The Order: 1886 Review – Too Short? Too Linear? So What? Ready at Dawn Delivers a PS4 Must Have

Long before its release, The Order: 1886 fell victim to the court of public opinion. Evidence submitted to the court was based on internet scraps, screenshots, leaked videos and 10 minute demos but it was enough for the court to play judge, jury and in some cases executioner to Ready at Dawn's much...

The Order: 1886 review

The Order: 1886 is a game that wants to tell the best story ever told. In wanting to achieve that, it sacrifices engaging gameplay for jarring storytelling techniques, never taking advantage of the game's intriguing premise, beautiful world, and fantastic voice-acting.

+ The best looking console game of the generation; + Great voice acting; + An intriguing premise and great world

+ Jarring storytelling techniques; + Obsession with quick-time events; + It's a goon-fest; + Shooting gameplay doesn't fully realise awesomeness of the weapons

It's good - and it's also bad. For The Order: 1886 , a game that promises so much, that's a painful thing to say. But the evidence is irrefutable. Here's the good: It looks incredible.

The Order 1886 – Review

"The game that changes the gaming scene of 2006." Two brand new IPs changed the way the Sony Playstation defined gaming, the argument of having console exclusive games and the way it [...]

Fantastically motion captured; Flawless Visuals; A great rendition of the steampunk 1886 London

No replay value; Loose storyline; Frame letterboxing; Flawed NPCs; Rehashed Boss Fights; enemies lack variety; Predated game design; Too many QTEs

The PlayStation 4 (PS4) has had a year of up and downs in India and it's still to have a monster hit along the lines of last generation's fantastic Uncharted series of games, or The Last of Us.

Bourgeois Boogie

The Order: 1886 is a divisible title, delivering an incredible cinematic feast than fans of linear action titles will love. Those craving a longer-lasting open-world or replayable experience would do well to stay away from The Order: 1886 though.

Stunning visuals; Interesting premise; Intense shootouts

Short; Overly linear; QTE-fest

The Order: 1886

The concept of cinematic videogames has always been an odd one for me. Why would a developer restrict themselves by trying to emulate the silver screen when videogames are capable of so much more?

The Order: 1886

The Order: 1886 is such a great looking game, and it's sad that the gameplay couldn't be just as impressive. The game falls victim to the old cliche "All flash, no substance". The cinematic experience is overshadowed by the boring gameplay leading to a visually stunning game but unimaginative,...

Outstanding -- Highly Recommend

This is a stunningly beautiful game. Everything about it is exceptional, especially the graphics but really everything the music the story the voice acting the character models -- just EVERYTHING. Quite possibly the best game I've ever played. I actually cried twice during this.

Lot of fun

Despite this game getting a lot flack, i had a lot of fun playing it. it is very casual with a nice storyline that is just relaxing to play. also the visuals and cutscenecs make it look like you're watching a move. had a lot of fun with this one
