As with most triple-A entries today, Ready at Dawn's tale of steampunk-tinged Knights of the Round Table offers an amalgam of different gameplay types; for the most part shallow, but at least pleasantly distracting.

O.K. We know the Gameplay is short, way too short (Thanks out of the way) Now! The Order 1886 for me is one hell of a setting, with lore and a story I wanted to know more about, even once I'd finished the game. It's a beautiful looking game that I think deserves way more credit than it's received.
The Order: 1886 is not only the first big exclusive console release of the year, it's one of the PlayStation 4's biggest yet. Does it continue Ready At Dawn's winning ways? Matt Maguire reaches for his leather and goggles.
Through-the-roof production values create a believable; sensational world
Overly-directed; Inconsistent characterisation; Shallow combat; Many mechanics are too simple to be enjoyable; Predictable story; Short-ish with no replay value
If The Order: 1886 released at launch as it was originally intended, it most likely would have reviewed far differently because at that time, it would have showed us things we've never seen.
Visually stunning with no hiccups in presentation or gameplay input with some of the most beautiful cut-scenes ever shown to date on the new generation of consoles and a decent; somewhat intriguing; and perfectly-paced plot
Too many QTEs are shoehorned into spots that make zero sense or are unintuitive; overall gameplay is not innovative and feels forced in a game focused on cinematic storytelling
The Order: 1886 is a beautiful and impressive technical achievement, but it's also chock-full of frustrating control issues. Odd pacing and a less than compelling storyline don't help either.
The Order: 1886 is one of the best looking games around; Its fantastic dramatic performances are matched with a beautifully realized alternate vision of Victorian London
There are some frustrating issues with The Order's controls and the game's lengthy cutscenes and breaks in the action are jarring
The Order: 1886 is a torturer and a tease. It promises you a circuitous story populated with near-immortal knights, it promises you exciting encounters with snarling werewolves, it promises you clever weaponry the likes of which you rarely see in video games.
Fantastic voice acting; Consistent; stylish visuals; A couple of really cool weapons to play with
Overlooks the best aspects of its premise in favor of boring storytelling; Every gameplay element is drab and rote; Too little of the cool stuff (guns; werewolves); lots of the dull stuff (looking at things; walking slowly
I really enjoyed my time with The Order: 1886 , Ready at Dawn's PS4 exclusive supernatural steampunk showcase. The gunplay is tight and responsive, the graphics are an impressive technical achievement, the art design is simply stunning, and I even enjoyed the much-ballyhooed reliance on quick-time...
As inevitably as death and taxes, the euphoria among gamers following the arrival of each new generation of consoles gives way, after a while, to a nagging sense of impatience as we await the arrival of fresh, new types of gameplay.
Looks gorgeous; deeply atmospheric; fabulous steampunk gadgets; weapons and general vibe; pleasing storyline and characterisations
Far too many quick time events; cutscene heavy; third-person shooter gameplay lacklustre compared to its peers; doesn't make the most of its best ideas
Most of the shooting is done with yer bog-standard pistols and rifles, but there is some exotic weaponry to play around with. The Order's beguiling version of history has them casting renowned electrical engineer Nikola Tesla as the Knight's armourer.
I am an avid gamer as my readers would have realised by now by the sheer number of my game reviews compared to anything else. And they must be also well acquainted with my tightly structured writing style with proper sub-headings discussing all aspects of a typical game – graphics, storyboard,...
Breathtaking Visuals; Flawless Technicals
Weak story; non-interactive gameplay
