Can connect to the 2.4Ghz network but it never achieves internet access. It just says "identifying" and never finds an IP.

It seems to work, but it does seem to lack any additional power over the WiFi adapter already in the laptop. And it had no power to pull in the 5GHz signal from any meaningful distance.
Initially the stick did not see my WiFi network (Asus DSL-66U) but after installing the Windows 8.1 drivers from the website it works flawlessly. Download the drivers beforehand if you require them! (It comes with a CD but I don't have a disk drive)
I was hoping that by purchasing the TP-Link N-600 Wireless dual band USB Adapter would increase the amount of bars on my laptop that I use in the living room. The Netgear Router is located in the computer room upstairs. It is about 100' from the computer room to the living room.
using it for my ghetto tower pc in the living which doesnt have intergrated wifi and the internet router is in the basement floor. plugged this in and installed driver, connects to router no problem would buy again if it breaks
plug and play; easy installation; contemporary design
bandwidth could be better but it's wireless cant nitpick
it's perfect, but not very compatible with Gateway routers, gateway always make cheap low quality chinese products, other wise i would buy it again if i have enough money or get a new router.
After getting my cable modem upgraded to a 5g dual band wifi, I found my laptop did not offer support and I was left behind in 2.4g land. HP was no help but when I turned to B&H as always, they had the perfect solution. The 300Mbps 2.4/5Ghz N600 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter by TP-Link.
Easy To Set Up; Fast; Fast Connection Speed; Reliable connection; Secure Connection
Bought this as a cheap second card for secondary laptop, connecting to Netgear WNDR-4500. Gets 300Mbs almost constantly, and streams HD movies across WiFi with ease. Using both on Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows 7 (32bit & 64bit) with no issues whatsoever.
