Highly recommended
Had problems with Plusnet wireless router so upgraded to the TP link. You need to configure it to work with Plusnet but this information can be googled. Best upgrade we have ever made. Works a treat. Highly recommended.

Now on my second one!
I bought this two weeks ago to replace an ageing Apple Airport Extreme - it was cheaper than a new Apple device and had the functionality I wanted. I had some issues setting it up initially until I managed to get my ISP to change the PPPoE settings on the line - thing, no problems at all.

TP-Link's Archer VR900 universal modem router

The Archer VR900 is the ADSL modem-equipped version of TP-Link's Archer C9 , one of the best cable-only 802.11ac routers I've seen. It's not just suitable for ADSL connections though – it's also VDSL compatible, so will work with Fibre To The Cabinet (FTTC) and cable connections too, although not...

TP-Link Archer VR900
Which is the most important tech device in your home? Looking beyond what's likely to be an array of frivolous gadgets, it's safe to say that the core essentials are what matter most - the boiler, the oven and the kettle (I'm standing by that one).
Pros:
- Works with any Internet connection
- Simple setup process
- Good wireless performance
- 4x Gigabit Ethernet
- USB 3.0 storage sharing
- Optional 3G/4G backup
Cons:
- Manual firmware updates
- Pricey at £140
