The Synology DS1019+ NAS unit delivers on pretty much any front. You could argue that it is a little bit more of the same, as this is a DS918+ with 1 slot extra and 8 GB of internal memory. The rest is the same.

I purchased my DS1019+ in hopes it would be a good Plex server and storage. I have not been disappointed. The device streams nicely to multiple devices on the local network and with transcoding when accessed remotely.

Along with a DX517 expansion unit, the NAS installed without issue. It will truly get a "burn-in" as now using the Migration Assistant to bring over 38TB from a vintage Synology DS1512+, which has, along with two expansion units, approximately six years of trouble-free operation, albeit was not on...
