Christmas present

This was a gift for my son and he has played it nonstop. His cousins have also asked to borrow this game.

South Park: The Stick Of Truth review – have yourself a?time

A good, solid action role-player and a fantastic South Park tie-in, with the same caustic wit and an unashamed embrace of video game and role-playing obsessions.

Perfectly mimics the look, sound, and humour of the show in a way few other licensed games ever do; Solid gameplay that is both accessible and consistently entertaining

Combat is a shameless copy of Paper Mario; The game's customisation options are wide but not particularly deep, with little difference in class types; Console versions are censored in Europe

Bigger, Longer, And Cut

When I was but a wee boy, definitely too young to be playing it, I remember playing South Park 64 and being appalled at the travesty put in front of me. As a ten-year old at the time my standards were probably about as sky-high as my height, and I still accepted that this was the pits.

Non-stop laughs; Breakneck pace; South Park brought to life

Surplus fart jokes; Simplistic mechanics

South Park: The Stick Of Truth – Review (PS3, 360)

South Park has always been on the edge of controversy from the very first episode, "Cartman gets an anal probe". So it probably didn't come as a surprise to anyone when South Park : The Stick of Truth was finally ready for a release only to earn its own share of controversy.

South Park The Stick of Truth

Thanks to Xbox for supplying our review copy

Brilliantly written script that will have you laughing out loud; Feels like you're playing an interactive TV episode rather than a game; Very in-depth character customisation

Story mode isn't overly extensive; Combat gets repetitive; Little replayability after completing the campaign

South Park: The Stick of Truth review

The Stick of Truth has had a torrid time making it onto our shelves but the end result delivers on the promise - bringing the crazy world of South Park onto our gaming screens with the cutout animation and all the acidic humour intact. And it's backed by strong RPG mechanics to boot.

It's the TV show brought to life; Merciless humour; Deep RPG battling

Irritating censorship decision; Cluttered map; Loading delays between locations

South Park: The Stick of Truth Review

The South Park franchise hasn't had the easiest of rides when it comes to video games. The last one I remember playing was a First Person Shooter on the N64, which wasn't great. South Park: The Stick of Truth, however, is an RPG developed by Obsidian that has been garnering quite a bit of attention.

Very funny; Looks & sounds fantastic; The battle system; Extremely enjoyable to play

The frame rate; Slow to navigate map; Will the length of the game put people off

South Park: The Stick of Truth Review | Send in the New Kid

This generation of consoles hasn't had the best run for licensed tie-ins or traditional RPG experiences. And now, as it winds to a close, the two genres get one last chance in an odd-sounding hybrid. A South Park RPG. How do you fit South Park into an RPG experience?

Nails the look and fantastic humour of the show; Lots of amusing fan-pleasing quests to complete; Combat is full of neat touches

Nails the look and fantastic humour of the show, Lots of amusing fan-pleasing quests to complete, Combat is full of neat touches, So many loading screens and some odd slowdown, Not many new moves to unlock in combat, I f**cking hate Mr; Hankey

South Park: The Stick of Truth Xbox 360 Review

South Park has had its ups and downs when it comes to licensed video games. You have the god awful Mario Party rip-off known as Chef's Luv Shack, then you rise through the ranks to see such games as South Park Rally , the original South Park first-person shooter, where you could take a piss to...

They finally cracked it...

This game manages to capture the anarchic satire of South Park while being an entertaining RPG.

Easy to follow good to look at; A lot of swearing
