There's a lot to like about the Sony Xperia Z. It is the strongest Android phone that Sony has produced to date, fusing power, design and features. We don't find Sony's customisations to be too intrusive and the attention to battery life is to be welcomed.

Sony's handsets tend to frustrate me more often than they please me, showing glimpses of greatness let down by some annoying issues. The Xperia Z, however, gets so much right that my grumbles seem almost wilful.

The Sony Xperia Z is a very powerful Android smartphone, and is pretty much on the same level as the HTC Butterfly in terms of performance. But, the fact that the Xperia Z is slightly taller and wider than the HTC Butterfly may not be ideal for quite a few users.
