Sony WH-1000XM3
Sony promise more sound and less noise in these awesome WH-1000XM3 headphones!
Industry-leading noise cancellation that's even better
Sony have always been front runners in developing noise cancelling technology, but it seems they've outdone themselves in their WH-1000XM3 headphones. The noise cancellation technology in these headphones is described as "our most advanced ever", with close fitting ear pads and HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1 combining to ensure that Sony stays ahead of the pack.
Smarter than before
Headphones can be smart, and in the case of the WH-1000XM3 model, they're super smart. Their advanced noise cancelling technology such as Adaptive Sound Control is a prime example, while other smart features include Quick Attention, which quickly turns down music, call sound, and ringtone to allow ambient sound to be heard easily, plus Voice Assistant compatibility and touch control.
Awesome audio
Noise cancellation is one thing...what about the sounds? LDAC, Sony's new wireless audio technology transmits about three times more data than conventional BLUETOOTH wireless audio. This means you can now enjoy audio content that approaches a dedicated wired connection.
NC is AOK
The dedicated NC processor in the WH-1000XM3 headphones ensures reproduction of your music is not compromised at any stage, even by processor performance.
Head in the clouds
Many of us use headphones while we're flying. Sony understands this so they've introduced Unique Atmospheric Pressure Optimizing to their WH-1000XM3 headphones. This delivers optimal sound at high altitude.
A newer model Sony WH-1000XM4 was released in August 2020.

For the last few years, Sony has been hot on the heels of rival Bose , working hard to create the ultimate noise-canceling headphone. Sony WH-1000XM3 Review
Sony's WH-1000XM3 headphones feature some of the best audio performance we've heard paired from a pair that also boasts excellent noise cancellation. In recent years, Sony has been one of the few serious contenders to dethrone Bose as the top manufacturer of noise-cancelling Bluetooth headphones. In terms of audio performance, its new $349.99 WH-1000XM3 headphones come out on top, with drivers that deliver excellent bass depth and high-frequency clarity, with in-app EQ to dial in your preferences if the sound signature is a bit too bass-heavy or bright for your taste. The ANC (active noise cancellation) is also fantastic, though Bose still has a slight edge there. Ultimately, the Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones are for those who place audio performance on a higher pedestal than noise cancellation—but still want excellent examples of both—and earn our Editors' Choice alongside the QuietComfort 35 II. Design Available in beige or black, the circumaural (over-ear) WH-1000XM3 headphones are, from a physical perspective, all about comfort and less about style. The materials used and the matte finishes look clean and project an air of und...- Excellent audio performance with superb bass depth and high-frequency clarity

Sony WH-1000XM3 review: Sony lays claim to top noise-canceling headphone
With its comfortable fit and superb performance, the Sony WH-1000XM3 is the noise-canceling headphone to beat. For more than a year Sony's WH-1000XM3 has been the highest-rated wireless noise-canceling headphone on CNET, and it's still my favorite overall. Sony WH-1000XM3 Review: Perfect Sound With Great Comfort
For most users, headphones should be able to shut out the rackety world and focus on the songs that move them or prose that inspires them. If you're dead serious about not missing a single word or note, having noise cancellation is a must.- Durable build
- Comfortable to wear
- USB-C
- Great battery life
- Versatile and rich recording-quality sound
- 20-step noise cancellation
- Not great for calling
- Can't disconnect other devices using the app
great headphones
Had these headphones for a few weeks now and so far they've been really impressive. Can't imagine not having them before. I look better than Bose I find the quality of the noise cancelling to be fast superior. And one of the major benefits for me is the 10-minute rapid charge with 5 hours playback.
