Get a Carl Zeiss Sonnar optical lens for rich imagery that will let you relive memorable moments with the clarity they deserve. The large f/1.8 aperture provides for excellent low-light sensitivity and depth-of-field, while a smooth and quiet AF is great for creating movies.

I have to return it because it down grade the jpeg size from L42M to L18M only ! I finally found out that this lens was not Compatible with the a7r iii !!

Aside from its asking price, there's not much to gripe about with the Sony Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* E 24mm F1.8 ZA. It's an extremely sharp lens, even at the edges of the frame at f/1.8, and it focuses quite close.

The lens I received was decentered i.e. the left side of the photos (especially on large apertures) is much softer than the right side. Make sure you test yours.

The other reviewers are spot on. Their technical description of this lenses attributes are spot on. What I will add is that this is my go to street photography lens. I was a little leary as I really wanted a 35mm walking around prime lens. I am not disappointed at all.
