I bought these headphones to use for 24 track recording and they are just excellent. I have previously had inaccuracies in sound replication between headphones and the professional out-put reference monitors I use.

After trying some of the other top brands i find the Sony MDR-1A prestige overhead headphones to be much more to my tastes than any other brand comfort and sound quality are fantastic.
I've tried this headphones in the store and I was amazed by the quality of the sound. I was so impressed that I couldn't stop talking about them. One morning, few weeks later my husband gave them to me as a birthday gift. You can imagine how happy was I.... So don't hesitate, just buy them!
Comfortable portable Hifi fools The sound can be called soft and easy-listening. They have a nice resolution in midrange and tweeter and the sound never gets hard. However, it feels something straightforward and not very linear.
I bought these a few months ago and loved them from the start. That is, until the left side crapped out. If I wiggle the chord around a bit, sometimes I'm lucky enough to get it to work, but otherwise it's completely devoid of sound. Not worth the buy for such a short use period.
Pros: These Sony headphones are light, comfortable for wearing for long periods, and have great sound. They are not 100% faithful 'studio reference' headphones, with a touch more both bass and treble - but not enough to offend the ears.
These are by far the best headphones I have ever heard. They are truly high definition with rich, deep, bass, crystal clear highs. I still prefer loud speakers but, when circumstances dictate otherwise, they're quite the consolation!
Awesome sound; astounding comfort; total external noise isolation; unsurpassed quality
I'm tempted to quip about the price but the old axiom; "You get what you pay for" definitely applies here
The sound quality is incredible; They do lack a very slight bit of bass, but more than make up for it with clarity, and the subtle parts of music I had missed previously with other headphones/sound systems.
Ever so slight lack of bass; but still a very good range
very good clear and clean sound.comfortable to wear.
nice clean sound
noyhing if on sale
