Sony MDR-1000X review: Quite simply phenomenal noise-cancelling headphones

Sony's mission to deliver its best noise-cancelling headphones has lead to the birth of the MDR-1000X. It's a solid name, for a solid pair of noise-cancelling headphones. The MDR-1000X set their sights on the lucrative wireless noise-cancelling segment of the market; they're designed for every...

Sony MDR-1000X wireless headphones – as noiseless as it gets

There is no question that Sony has made an excellent wireless active noise cancelling headphone in the MDR-1000X. Sound quality is right up there with the best at its price range, its Bluetooth connectivity is stable and also seemingly has no sound quality sacrifices while its noise cancelling...

+ Excellent sound, easy connectivity and state-of-the-art active noise cancelling performance coupled with well thought out convenience and safety features; Bass quality stands out for its depth and tunefulness; At its price, an excellent buy

– The Sony MDR-1000X may seem too big for some buyers; there is also a higher level of creaks when moving one's head during listening, which may bother some more than others

Review: Sony MDR-1000X noise cancelling Bluetooth headphones

How do you know if noise cancelling headphones are serious One tell is whether they are "on ear" or "over ear". Headphones that fully surround year ears – "over ear" models – don't have to work anywhere near as hard on the electronic front against noise because the surround itself provides some...

Very good sound quality; useful convenience features; wide Bluetooth codec support

Rather pricey

Affordable headphones with good sound. Easy to use, takes an hour to learn all the features (tips: read the manual). Robusta. Battery life lasts a long time. Very good range. There are three small things I wish could be improved: - The fit. They are sitting pretty tight.

Sony 1000X review: the best of Bose worlds

Convenience is the number one thing with Sony's 1000Xs. Any time I'm going out, I pick them up ahead of the dozens of in-ear headphones I own, even though the latter are smaller, lighter, and often sound better.

Exceedingly comfortable; Noise canceling doesn't get any better; Long battery life; Great sound quality for Bluetooth headphones

Fiddly touch controls; Materials are sturdy; but underwhelming for $400; MicroUSB charging is so very 2016

Sony MDR-1000X review: Sony's answer to the Bose QuietComfort 35 is feature packed and sounds excellent

When it comes to noise-canceling headphones -- those models that actively block outside noise like airline engines -- Bose is generally considered the gold standard, but Sony's engineers have been on a mission to beat Bose at what it does best.

If you can overlook a few small drawbacks, the MDR-1000X is a top-notch wireless noise-canceling headphone that's stacked with features and sounds excellent.

The Sony MDR-1000X is an excellent-sounding, comfortable wireless headphone with effective noise-canceling that measures up to Bose's for muffling ambient noise; It has good battery life and some nifty extra features geared toward frequent travelers.

Not great as a headset; its adaptive noise-canceling is too noticeable at times.

Amazing noise cancelling, rich, full sound

Between Sony's MDR-1000x and the Bose Q35, its my opinion that Sony takes the cake. Testing both out in a noisy electronics store (music playing in the back ground, PA making announcements, people talking, etc) There was extreme background silence with Sony's Noise cancelling system.

Outstanding noise cancelling; rich; full sound

Ear drums can ache at times...and not due to loud play back but possibly sound wave compression due to such a tight seal around the ears (this is my untrained ear's opinion) Wife did not experience this; and I do not every time; just a couple times so far.

Sony MDR-1000X

I'm glad that at least I got mine for 215 USD in sealed box. But again, I think I wasted my money. The headset is annoying, mostly because of the creaks and functionality. It does sound decent.. but that's where it ends. Durability and construction are on the cheap side.
