When it comes to noise-cancelling headphones, most experts agree that it doesn't get much better than Bose. The American company has built something of a reputation for itself with its QuietComfort range, and the recently launched QuietComfort 35 sets new benchmarks when it comes to cutting out the...

With best-in class noise-cancelling (comparable to the QC35), competitive price and great sound quality, the S$599 Sony MDR-1000X lives up to its reputation with great performance throughout my tests.

Excellent noise cancellation and audio quality

Noise cancellation is a step-up in effectiveness compared with the MDR-100ABN (which was pretty good already). Significantly less noise getting through on aircraft take-off and landing.

Great sound with comfortable ear pads

Love these headphones Sound is precise and clear Only thing I'd say is they could be bit smaller fit over the head Just fit mine on the tightest They are fairly weighty not light But robust and have long lasting battery life There's safe mode so you can hear your surroundings Pop your right hand...

Sony MDR-1000X wireless headphones – as noiseless as it gets

There is no question that Sony has made an excellent wireless active noise cancelling headphone in the MDR-1000X. Sound quality is right up there with the best at its price range, its Bluetooth connectivity is stable and also seemingly has no sound quality sacrifices while its noise cancelling...

+ Excellent sound, easy connectivity and state-of-the-art active noise cancelling performance coupled with well thought out convenience and safety features; Bass quality stands out for its depth and tunefulness; At its price, an excellent buy

– The Sony MDR-1000X may seem too big for some buyers; there is also a higher level of creaks when moving one's head during listening, which may bother some more than others

The MDR-1000X is Sony's answer to the Bose QuiteComfort 35 (QC 35) and Sennheiser PXC 550. In fact, all three pairs of noise-cancelling wireless over-ear headphones are designed to lure audiophiles and travelers with deep pockets. The MDR -1000X are surprisingly wellbuilt and are made for big ears.

Sony MDR-1000X

The Sony MDR-1000X have all the pillars of good noise-cancelling headphones : they sound great, work well and are extremely comfortable. They are also wireless, which makes them a good choice for traveling and commuting.

Both with and without active noise cancelling; these headphones blocked the most external sound in our tests

The four-hour charge time is longer than most and could be a hassle when traveling or if you have a limited number of outlets

Sony MDR-1000x Review: The Best Wireless Noise-cancelling Headphones Yet

The fantastic sound quality, comfortable build, elegant design, outstanding battery life, smart features, and the noise-cancelling makes the Sony MDR-1000x one of the best wireless headphones you can get in the market today. Yes it's steep at Php17,999 but it's a great buy if you can afford it.
