Due to large f1.8 aperture its great lens for Low light Photography. Its a Fixed Focus lens, so, no zoom, but produces very good portraits with blurring the background and focussing on the subject.

Really thought this would fit my Sony a5100. Had to return it. So yeah I had to put 1 star because I was disappointed.
Perfect item. Very nice pictures with this lens, briliant and very good an fast focus. Value for money. The best choise if you need a portrait lens for yous sony dslr and you haven't money for the f/1.4. Plastic but heave its ok with that!
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Lightweight; Rugged; Strong Construction
Slow Focus
This is the first lens I have bought since getting my alpha 55 a few months ago, and I love it. Great for portraits, making your subject really stand out against a lovely soft background and a fabulous price. What's not to like
Lightweight; Quick Focus; Sharp Focus
Fast delivery, exactly as described. First time with a fixed lens and very pleased with the photos I've taken with it so far.
"There's always a question in the beginner's mind as to whether they should buy a prime lens or a zoom lens. The answer I've gotten from asking many people is both. And so I bought this lens. It is amazing.
Excellent lens! Great buy! Definitely recommend!
nice lenses, value for money, good quality
The sony DT 50MM F1.8 is excellent! Compare with CANON EF 50MM F1.8II, the build quality is slightly better, it doesn't make a big noise like CANON 50 1.8II when it's trying to focuse. The price is a little higher but its resonable and it's still affordable.
