Sony SAL16105: Get some good glass.
A brilliant lens for Sony DSLR users.
Pros:
- Great image quality and a build quality you can rely on
Cons:
- None for me although it will seem expensive to some

Great walk around lens
This lens is a good for just about any situation. I used to use the 18-250mm as my walk around lens but since getting this one I've found that for most situations I like this one more. Having the 16mm option is sometimes just enough to keep me from having to reach into my bag for my UWA.
Pros:
- Zoom range
- build
- sharp
- color
Cons:
- Slow (f/3.5-5.6

Get some good glass.
As most Dooyoo and Ciao members and followers of my reviews will know much of the cameras and lenses I review are ones I have tested for my camera club or been invited to test by manufacturers, this review however is on a lens that I own personally and use as part of my professional kit.

Almost a winner
Loved the zoom range and price but ultimately returned it for the CZ 16-80 despite the higher cost. Chromatic aberration was the deal breaker for me.
Pros:
- Consistent Output
- Fast / accurate auto-focus
- Sharpness
- Zoom rangeperformance
Cons:
- Chromatic aberration

Best for "always on". Wont miss a shot because of having to change the lens first without compromising image quality.
Pros:
- Very sharp
- incredible quality for zoom range equaling 24-160 on 35mm
Cons:
- Not too fast
- F 3.5 at 16mm only

Sony 16-105mm f/3.5-5.6 DT SAL-16105 review by hhrhd
I use this lens now nearly for two years. Aprox. 15.000 shots later I am still amazed how good this lens is. The sharpness is only surpassed by some SONY fixed lenses I tried (e.g. the excellent 35mm SAM 1,8).
Pros:
- compact versaitile sharp relaible fast autofocus used with alpha SLT55
Cons:
- creeping

The BEST "walk-around" zoom lens for the APS-C size sensor:
I have the 18-200, 18-250 and the 18-270 and 3 other old smaller zooms... At first, I missed the 18-270's reach, but once I got acquainted with 16 end of the lens, I realized what I was missing... I was walking closer to my subjects.

very nice lens
I'm just getting used to this lens. I mount it on the sony a65. Previously I've had the 16-50 fixed f-stop. (which I Love) on my a65. The 16-105 is a fast focus and very sharp. It increases the range, and is a well-built lens. I will use it for landscape and possibly portraits.
