The Sony A7C II promises plentiful high-end features in a compact (if chunky) package. This second-gen Sony E-Mount full-frame camera proves itself reliable in delivering very high-quality output.
Pros:
- Feature packed, Rock solid almost brutalist build quality, Flip out and swivel touch screen LCD enhances intuitive operation
Cons:
- Still bulky and weighty compared to APS-C or Four Thirds sensor incorporating rivals from OM System and Fujifilm, Requires a deep dive into the manual and a period of familiarization, Just the one card slot for SD media may deter power users

The full-frame Sony a7C II may be small in size, but it offers a full suite of features for both still and video shooting. Image and video quality are excellent, and its autofocus system is one of the best on the market.

The viewfinder resolution is low for a camera in this price range, and rolling shutter can be a real issue when capturing video.

Sony A7C II review: Minor updates on the outside, big improvements inside
With the latest Sony processing systems, including real-time AI recognition and video features previously reserved for the top-of-the-range Sony Alpha cameras, the travel-friendly A7C II becomes a serious alternative to the larger A7 IV. The jump to 33 million-pixel resolution takes it further away from the ZV-E1, which has a similar rangefinder-style design but a much lower-resolution 12 million-pixel sensor, as it’s primarily designed for video use. The A7C II is a powerful, lightweight full-frame camera, and unlike its predecessor there’s little compromise; you’re getting all the good stuff Sony currently offers in a small full-frame camera. My only criticism would be that the electronic viewfinder could still be larger, and a full-size HDMI port would be excellent. However, both of those additions would impact the camera's size, which is one of its key selling points.

Cons:
- EVF could still be bigger
- Currently more expensive than the A7 IV
- New processing systems impact battery life
