Take full control of Sonic and his friends in this Kinect racing game. Hopefully your body and the Kinect camera is up for the task!

Sonic Free Riders uses Microsoft's Kinect technology to place you in the Sonic universe as you zip around a limited number of courses – or at least try to. Spotty body detection turns what could have been a unique racing experience into a wreck.
Imagine a game in which the mundane actions you perform in real life are replicated to an exaggerated degree in the digital realm. A modest hop in your living room results in your in-game character soaring into the virtual stratosphere, and a slight flick of your wrist allows you to fling a missile...
Good track design with lots of hidden shortcuts; Upgradable equipment gives you something to strive for
Awful controls taint every potentially good aspect
Fast paced racing game with cool tracks, with fun to be had on each new track, Some of you may think 8/10 is a bit much for a very flawed game but with the work arounds i stated above from the menu's to the use of arms aswell as leaning for turns work flawlessly, jumping on the ramp instead of as...
Another motion control game review ! Already! Okay, if that's the way the wind is blowing these days, fine. Sonic Free Riders is a launch game for Kinect, it's a hoverboard racing game, and it's probably the best reason to own a Kinect device at this moment in time.
While games like Dance Central and Your Shape: Fitness Evolved are rewarding me for spending CDN$150+ taxes on Kinect, SEGA had to disappoint me once again with yet another Sonic game.
. After a quick tutorial you soon start to discover that the game might not be as fun as it sounds, as even during these brief glimpses of the game you will find the controls are terribly inconsistent. You stand facing the TV at a ninety degree angle and lean forward or backward to turn.
Sonic Free Riders makes one thing clear from the second it loads up: this is not the Sonic the Hedgehog of yesteryear but instead the o...
Unique Kinect gameplay; Upgradeable boards; Changes in gameplay mechanics
Unreliable controls; Difficult online infrastructure; Lack of content
Why is SEGA endlessly obsessed with putting Sonic on hoverboards The whole point of him is he can run really fast anyway. It's like Superman getting into hang gliding. And yet, here we have another game nobody asked for in the shape of Sonic Free Riders.
I have to admit, I was one of the biggest Kinect sceptics around prior to its launch. I questioned whether the slick machine with the black piano finish would be a fad. I also questioned whether Xbox 360 gamers would embrace it.
