Our friends over at Sega provided a reviewable copy of Sonic Free Riders, which is awesome. The downside is we were working with Microsoft trying to find out where our Kinect Sensor unit was. We've seen a number of ‘extreme' racing games released over the years on a variety of platforms featuring SEGA's inimitable blue mascot, Sonic T. Hedgehog, most probably in an effort to try and provide a super-powered alternative to Nintendo's mascot-imbued Mario Kart series of racing games.

I have to admit, I was one of the biggest Kinect sceptics around prior to its launch. I questioned whether the slick machine with the black piano finish would be a fad. I also questioned whether Xbox 360 gamers would embrace it.
