Bioshock might have set the mold of adding psionic powers to the first person shooter, but both games in that series left me disappointed with the bad endings. Even so, it spawned other shooters out that take the concept of adding special abilities to your guns and runs with it.

Raven's latest first-person shooter, Singularity, snuck onto store shelves recently without much fanfare, mere weeks after an E3 event that was more exciting than what we've become accustomed to.

Awesome game. Good single player story. Better than all the repetitive multiplayer garbage that comes out every week.

Just finished Singularity (yea, sometimes it's nice livin' in the EU ^^) and wanted to share my impressions of it with you guys.

I cant understand why this didnt sell more.........it's a great little game but as it didnt sell as expected (probably down to the publishers) the online element is lacking. All in all.....I really enjoyed this and there are some good nods to other sci fi films and series'. Give it a chance...

If you liked Bioshock or Dead Space, this solid entry will likely appeal. It's a plotline we've all seen before -- the Space Marine equivalent who needs to shoot his way through everything in his path -- but the play is well done and the plotline has just enough twists to keep it interesting.

Singularity is a first person shooter that constantly throws new mechanics at you which all have a science fiction theme. One of the most notable mechanics is the ability to manipulate time around you.

Unique mechanics – Some great dark atmosphere – Plot twists

Multiplayer is lacking – TMD is limited to certain scenarios

First Impressions My reaction is With so many different first person shooters available on the market these days, it is often difficult to stand out. Game designers and developers often need to explore new gameplay mechanics to differentiate their product.
