Shure SE535 Sound Isolating Earphones

Sound quality is awesome IF YOU CAN GET A GOOD FIT. I struggle to get a good fit in one ear. Can't get a good fit at all with the supplied foam tips. I have also tried various Comply foam tips, but again no joy.

"Shure se535 are qualtiy sounding earphones that good for all around fun. The changeable cable is a big factor to me."

The sound is fairly what I expected to be. They do most types of music well, but you have to play around with ear tip sizing to get the best sound along with adjusting your equalizer a little for ones taste. Everyone hearing is a bit different so what works for one may not work for others.

I previously had the SE530s but one of the earphones went out the day before my 2-year warranty expired. Shure replaced them with the SE535s (an unexpected surprise). The 535s are much more comfortable and easier to put in the ear (I think because of the more angular shape of the earphone).

SE535

It's been a good, long while since we visited the upper rungs of Shure's in-ear monitor lineup (about four years , to be exact), and for good reason: the E500 / SE530 was already a stellar product that the company was understandably in no rush to replace.
Pros:
  • Sound quality will blow you away
  • Most robust headphone cable you'll find
  • Clear color option looks great
Cons:
  • "Not cheap" is an understatement
  • Select-a-size cable system is gone
  • No push-to-hear option

When I was told that the Shure SE535 earphones had arrived, I was really looking forward to testing them out. I've tried out previous models such as the SE530, but could never afford them. Now finally, I had a pair of SE535s all to myself. Well, at least for a while. So lets see how they fared.

Shure SE535 Earphones

The cables themselves are the first things that shout "high quality". Shure has gone with a new Kevlar-reinforced material that's far more resilient than standard plastic, and they've added gold-plated connectors right on the monitors themselves.
Pros:
  • Perfect sound quality
  • replaceable cables
Cons:
  • Takes some time to get used to the fit
