Unbelievably detailed, utterly uncompromising.
Shure's efforts to evolve ergonomically correct and excellent sounding headphones have born some delicious fruit with this line-up. All of these headphones fit extremely well in the ear and are very secure on the head. The build quality and features are excellent across the board.
The cables themselves are the first things that shout "high quality". Shure has gone with a new Kevlar-reinforced material that's far more resilient than standard plastic, and they've added gold-plated connectors right on the monitors themselves.
Perfect sound quality; replaceable cables
Takes some time to get used to the fit
The SE535s are Shure's new high-end in-ears. The SE535s come with a variety of extras, such as eight different sets of sleeves and an optional volume control. The SE535s also detatch at the ear bud, to allow for easy cable swapping.
These top-end Shures are off to a great start if a good fit is high on your list of priorities. They're a little fiddly to get in the ears, but their snug fit and wrap-around cables keep them firmly in place.
Apple Touch; Punchy; pacey performance; very comfortable; impressive sound isolation
Apple Touch; Not quite as transparent as their closest rivals
When I was told that the Shure SE535 earphones had arrived, I was really looking forward to testing them out. I've tried out previous models such as the SE530, but could never afford them. Now finally, I had a pair of SE535s all to myself. Well, at least for a while. So lets see how they fared.
It's been a good, long while since we visited the upper rungs of Shure's in-ear monitor lineup (about four years , to be exact), and for good reason: the E500 / SE530 was already a stellar product that the company was understandably in no rush to replace.
Sound quality will blow you away; Most robust headphone cable you'll find; Clear color option looks great
"Not cheap" is an understatement; Select-a-size cable system is gone; No push-to-hear option
I previously had the SE530s but one of the earphones went out the day before my 2-year warranty expired. Shure replaced them with the SE535s (an unexpected surprise). The 535s are much more comfortable and easier to put in the ear (I think because of the more angular shape of the earphone).
I have had several pairs of Shures over the years: always top quality sound but I have had some issues with reliability. They need to be treated with care.
The sound is fairly what I expected to be. They do most types of music well, but you have to play around with ear tip sizing to get the best sound along with adjusting your equalizer a little for ones taste. Everyone hearing is a bit different so what works for one may not work for others.
