Review: Sennheiser RS 220
Sennheiser's RS 220 are a pair of digital wireless headphones that aim to deliver sound quality 'very close to the audiophile ideal'.

Sennheiser RS 220 wireless headphones are for the audiophile with the widest wallet
The Sennheiser RS 220 ($599) was conceived as a design statement and uses the same driver elements as the reference grade Sennheiser 600 series of wired headphones . Their plastic construction doesn't feel worthy of the price tag, but the material still feels durable and keeps the weight down to...
Pros:
- The Sennheiser RS 220 is a large
- full-size headphone that uses advanced DSSS lossless wireless technology for exceptional sound quality
Cons:
- The RS 220's shiny black plastic construction doesn't jive with its lofty price tag and the digital connection doesn't work with Dolby or DTS audio signals

"Review: Sennheiser's RS 220s Blast Crisp Sound Less The Messy Wiring"
If there?s lust in electronics, Sennheisers RS 220 inspire it. The headphones and wireless transmitter are both dressed in glossy black, with silver lining subtly accentuating certain traits.
Pros:
- Virtually loss-less unwired sound
- stunning aesthetics
- comfortable build
Cons:
- Wireless range has its limits
- Track back/forth buttons would've been a nice addition

Sennheiser RS 220
Listening through headphones can be untidy. Who among us hasn't had our enjoyment interrupted by a pet, child or significant other getting tangled in the cables strung between system and sofa?

Sennheiser RS 220 Review
Sennheiser's RS 220 package is basically a combo of the HDR 220 headphones and the TR 220 dock. And it is one huge box they come in! Our experience with most wireless headphones till now has been a serious case of two halves - lots of potential with some bit of deliverance on that, but disappointing...
Pros:
- Good sound quality
- Neutral headphones should appeal to a wider demographic
- Comfortable to wear
- even for a long innings
- Blocks out ambient noise quite well
- Lots of input options
Cons:
- HDR 220 may be too big for some users
- Limited range
- Buttons on the headphone prone to getting pressed inadvertently

Sennheiser RS 220 review
Many people like the convenience of using Bluetooth wireless headphones with their iPod or iPhone. However, Bluetooth does apply additional compression to your music, so it's never been the first choice for audiophiles who want the best possible quality from their headphones.
Pros:
- Excellent sound quality
- multiple audio inputs and outputs
Cons:
- Expensive
- not portable
- earpieces leak sound

Sennheiser RS 220
Wireless headphones can look great on paper, but in reality can be pretty hit-and-miss, with high prices and ropey sound quality all in the name of banishing those pesky wires.
Pros:
- Comfortable
- Good sound quality
- Rechargeable battery
Cons:
- Very expensive
- Sound leak

Sennheiser RS 220
These truly are great wireless phones, particularly for those who live in open plan dwellings away from 2.4Ghz congestion. They play a game of big compromises, and you will see many negative reviews out there. That's all fine, but the sound quality does justify it in my view.
Pros:
- Huge
- open sound
- no trace of compression or digitisation
- good comfort
- great DA converters..
Cons:
- Very poor wireless range (forget it if there are solid walls)
- effected by other 2.4Ghz devices
- need a lot of power because of huge bandwidth (poor battery life)
- plastic build quality

Great headphones, but overpriced
These are excellent sounding headphones that are simply too expensive to warrant a 5 star rating due to the rather old 2.4GHz wireless frequency they run on. To prevent audio dropouts, some people (including myself) have had success in changing their WiFi channel on their 2.4GHz radio of their...
Pros:
- Excellent Sound Quality Variety of input options Good Wireless Range
Cons:
- Uses old 2.4GHz wireless technology which can conflict with WLAN and Bluetooth signals causing dropouts (troubleshooting section of owner's manual even mentions this)
- Unusually long charge time for batteries in headset (16 hour charge for 8 hours of use) Very Expensive

For us, the holy grail of headphones would have excellent sound quality, high comfort levels, and no burdensome wires. Sennheiser 's new RS 220 comes close to fulfilling these wishes, and despite (or perhaps because of) the wallet-busting £349 price tag we'd seriously consider buying them.
