Superb headphone
Outstanding product. Clean, clear, uncolored sound, with great presence and a studio-quality feel. Faithful, natural-sounding musical reproduction without technical gimmicks or artificial enhancements such as bass boost.

For the [cyber week sale price] they are amazing
The extension band is metallic and they seem to be really well built. You will hear sounds that you never heard before and they are really comfortable. I did not feel anything after 4-5 hours of wearing them (I have above average big ears and they fit very well).

outstanding headphones
The Sennheiser HD 598 Headphones have great sound and are well made. I have worn these phones for hours at a time. They are not noise reducing headphones but do filter out some outside noise. They deliver quality sound clarity for a reasonable price. I would recommend these to anyone.

Good stereo imaging
Slightly louder than expected but not over pleasant. Good high end detail. I thought the bass end was reasonably rounded for the type of music I tested on. Stereo imaging sounded wider than expected, though also very pleasant.

awesome
we cant bat on the reputation of sennheiser, we all know they amoungs best , n this headphone is best in its catogaries, i previously owned audio technica athm50x, its better than audio technica, you will have buy an dac and a good portible amplifier, though it works well with i phone , or any other...

Great fones!!!
These headphones are only a smidge beloew the Sennheiser HD600,at significantly less cost. Great bandwidth, clear midrange, good very low frequency response, cleam highs. The lows are almost as opoen as the HD600's, and the highs only get a little edgey with extremely high sound levels.

Holly Cow! What a Great Pair of Headphones!
I very much recommend this specific pair of headphones. I did not know you could get this level of quality for $150. - $200. Sennheiser makes really good headphones , and these are my favorite.
Pros:
- The sound is clear, warm, and rich
- I'm an old rock and roll guy, but the only really good quality (.flac) audio files I had on hand were a set of cello pieces
- Mein Gott! I think I might have to change my favorite musical instrument.
Cons:
- Same old issue with the 1/8th inch headphone jack
- All of my computer and stereo equipment has 3.5 mm jacks
- I will eventually buy a 1.5 m cable with 3.5 in jacks on each end, and light weight to boot
