Reliable and a good price

A good harddrive, however maybe I am just noticing now after 2.5 years of use, but startup times are starting to get a little slow, as this is my boot drive.

Barracuda drives rock

I exclusively use Seagate Barracuda drives for all my computers. I've never experienced a failure or any corruption of data. I had to use the Seagate Drive Utility to get Windows 10 to recognize the drive, even though the Bios was seeing it, but this is a windows thing, and not a drive issue.

Not advisable

Product was exchanged as the first one was bad (Obviously used one at looks and package). Be cautious to check immediately after delivery to rule out defective product.

Great quality if retail.

This came with my MEDION PC, and it still has not even got 1 bad sector or any other issue in SMART after 5 years of using it as my everything drive.

Pros

I have two of these drives which ive owned for over 2 years. i use them in addition to an SSD mostly to backup files. One of them started to get really clunky and loud after a year but the other drive works perfectly.

reliable decently fast

can be loud

The hard drive arrived intact in an air-cushioned package. I've been using it for the last 3 weeks and haven't run into any problems. If I had a con, the only one would be that it didn't come with a SATA cable. If you're ordering one, you should take note of that.

It's a drive. It works.

There isn't much to say about a hard drive, is there? Especially when it's new. It works. That is a good thing. How long it will work, I have no way of knowing. I bought two of these, and I chose them because of the Seagate brand. No more Western Digital for me. I had two, they died within a year.

Updated review after 4 yrs of use

First time in a long while I have bought Seagate. I usually buy WDs for their reliability and performace. Bought these as they were nearly $20 cheaper for the same size, cache and performance as the WDs. (HDD prices are too high anyway, they need to come down).

Single platter 1TB drive for under $100; Light weight, allows for excellent handling for file compression

Update---Drive's I/O interface failed after four years of use; The dirve motor was still running but the I/O would not work; This should not happen after only four years; I have never had a WD drive fail like this before; Some of my WD drives are nine years old and still healthy and going strong.

Another failure

I bought this for use in my Sky box. Now 2 Years and ONE month later it has totally died. The Sky box won't see it neither will the PC. From now on I'm going with Western Digital Red drives and avoiding Seagate.
