Samyang 8mm F/3.5 Fisheye CS (AE) Lens – 48

This Samyang lens and I didn't get off to a good start for the simple fact it was fiddly to mount. There is no magic dot on the lens barrel to match with the camera body for easy mounting and once it was correctly aligned it was stiff to attach and because of its positioning, hard not to...

Good images; Good aperture range; Likeable weight and size

Not smooth to mount; obstructive aperture ring; Aperture ring obscured by built-in camera flash

It's for a 4/3 not an M4/3 camera!

Had to return it as I hadn't realized there is no version for a M4/3 camera.

Had some concerns about Manual Focus. Read some blogs on the lens. VERY impressed with how easy it is to use. 4 steps --- Set the lens on f=8.; and set the focus on infinity. And everything beyond one foot from the lens is in perfect focus.

REVIEW: Samyang 8mm f/3.5 UMC Fish-eye CS II Lens Review

This 8mm fisheye lens provides a diagonal field of view of 180 degrees on a 1.5x crop APS-C DSLR, sports f/3.5 maximum aperture and the AE version we are reviewing here is available for around £250 for Nikon cameras with an APS-C size sensor.

Samyang 8mm f/3.5 UMC Fish-eye CS II

Samyang's 8mm f/3.5 UMC Fish-eye CS II is a manual focus wide-angle fisheye lens. The CS version is designed primarily for DSLR cameras with APS-C sensors. This review looks at the second-generation lens, which has a removable lens hood.

Outstanding sharpness in the centre when stopped down; Good build quality; Removable hood; Inexpensive; Stereographic projection

Slightly better performance at maximum aperture would've made this a great lens; rather than a very good one

Samyang 8mm f/3.5 AS MC Fisheye CS II DH Lens review

The Apple iPhone 14 isn’t a huge upgrade on the iPhone 13, yet it still is a great phone with a top camera, good battery life and all the iOS benefits.

Clever safety features, Very good battery life, Reliable camera, Fun colours, You’ve got an ageing iPhone: If you’re on an iPhone 11 or older, then the changes here will make a notable difference.

Stuck on a 60Hz display, Minimal differences to the iPhone 13, You’ve got an iPhone 13: The changes from Apple’s previous phone aren’t enough to warrant an upgrade this year.

Samyang 8mm f/3.5 AS MC Fisheye CS II DH Lens review

While it's a shame that picture and sound quality haven't been upgraded, the iPhone 13 was great in these regards and the iPhone 14 is, too Excellent display Admirable headphone performance Solid build quality No upgrades to picture or sound Familiar design Notch is still present
