This is so small and light but so fast. A great external drive and so easy to carry around. Highly recommended.

The Samsung Portable SSD T5 corrects the T3's most glaring omission by including a USB-C cable, and improves its dollar-to-gigabyte ratio and its performance significantly. At $799 for 2TB, it's made for well-heeled hobbyists and graphics artists.
Excellent performance; Includes USB 3.0 and USB-C cables; Compact; Android-, Mac-, and Windows-compatible
While a comparable good per-gigabyte value; the drive itself is expensive
The third (USB 3.1 Gen 2) generation of Samsung's credit-card-sized external drive is a swift and nifty solution for secure storage.
Couldn't be more portable; Fast performance; Handsome design; Comes with USB-C and USB-A cables
Expensive; No utility software except for password lock
While testing this unit, you'd almost forget that it is a USB flash storage device :) And for USB 3.1 it is fast, but perhaps could have been faster? I mean this is USB 3.1 Gen 2, we've seen USB 3.0 and 3.1 Gen 1 at this performance level for two years now.
Since the first Samsung Portable SSD, the T1 hit the shelves in 2015 every subsequent launch of the T series has seen the latest evolution of Samsung's TLC V-NAND being used inside them, 48-layer in the T3 and now with the 3rd generation drive, the Portable SSD T5, Samsung's latest 64-layer TLC...
64-layer V-NAND; Compact design; Performance; Capacity
It doesn't come cheap
The was a compact, durable, lightweight, and fast external solid state storage device, that offered killer performance when it launched. The T3 has been out for quite a while, however, and has since released a few newer types of flash memory, which are better suited to low-power, portable storage...
How small can an external storage device be? Pretty darn small, especially in the case of Samsung's newly released T5, which is about the size of a stack of credit cards. Indeed, the T5 is now dangerously close in size to far more expensive solid-state storage devices like Kingston's DataTraveler...
Incredibly fast; Highly compact
Expensive
Personal data storage has always been a really interesting category because, while everyone needs storage, there's still a lot of potential customers would rather pass on the category wholesale than deal with some of the caveats and hassle it sometimes entails.
Slim and light design; Ultra-fast storage speeds
More expensive per-GB; Limited color options
Amazingly cheap for what it can store. I would like more information about its write to speed in the spec sheets but it seems all these types of device have vague specs when it comes to write speed. I think it's because it depends on your computer
Samsung's Portable SSD T5 external drives are a great solution for those wanting performance and capacity in one package with MSRP offering these capacities under 40 cents per GB.
