The new Samsung Gear S3 Classic is a stylish smartwatch that comes with a built-in GPS. It's therefore slightly larger than previous models. The GPS enables the location to be accurately predicted. One application is the golf app. Hence, S3 Classic also doubles up as a golf watch.
The leather band is available in navy blue or alligator brown colours.
The Gear 3 series also contain the Gear 3 Frontier model, which has a more industrial design.

Samsung's Gear S3 was launched a couple of months ago now, at IFA in Berlin back in September, but it's only just reached availability in Australia now. Likely, Samsung wanted to keep from announcing new products while still dealing with the Note 7 issues, but now that the Note 7 is consigned to...
The Gear S3, including both the Frontier model pictured here and the Classic model, are available now for $350. In addition to this Bluetooth-only model, there's also a standalone LTE cellular variant sold by wireless carriers.

Michael Fisher on the Samsung Gear S3!\n
The Samsung Gear S3 is a monster of a smartwatch that might just do everything you need - if you can fit it under your shirtsleeve. It provides notifications for email, Twitter, Facebook and most other apps; it monitors your health, sleep and steps; it even completes payments on older-model magnetic...
The Samsung Gear S2 was one of the best smartwatches released last year. Although it was lacking in terms of third-party app support, its hardware was definitely superior to many offerings from other manufacturers. A year has passed, and now we have its successor: the Gear S3.
Samsung Gear S3 Classic review
The Gear S2 was a fantastic wearable OS trapped in a naff plastic case. The S3 Classic finally sets it free, with a drool-worthy design that you won't be ashamed to wear. The Classic opts for premium materials like metal and leather, easily making it one of the best-looking smartwatches out there...- Superb styling
- Fantastic fitness features
- Smart software that makes sense on your wrist
- Lack of apps at launch
- Not swim proof like an Apple Watch
- Bit on the big side

Samsung Gear S3 review: bigger and better, but not without flaws
The Samsung Gear S3 offers some clear improvements over the previous generation - most notably the amazing 3-4 day battery life. That really is class leading for an advanced smartwatch like this. The excellent rotating bezel and Tizen OS have been carried over.- Amazing battery life
- Sharp
- vibrant screen
- Tizen OS
- Frontier looks great
- Classic is ugly
- Too chunky for some
- Lacks apps
- US get more features
Samsung Gear S3 review: the best of both worlds
Samsung used IFA 2016 as the stage to present two more smartwatch models, thus expanding its wearables portfolio. The Gear S3 Classic and the Gear S3 Frontier combine the features we already had the pleasure of using on the Gear S2 in 2015, in addition to the more recent fitness tracker functions...- long battery life
- simple controls thanks to the bezel
- well-made
- water and dust-proof with IP68 certification
- variety of apps limited
- the bezel rattles slightly
