You may know Samsung as the lead manufacturer for Android, with its smartphone sales decimating those of the official Nexus series. However, it also has a habit of going off on a tangent, in the occasional bid for world domination.

Second time around, Samsung has produced an excellent smartwatch. The Gear S2 is attractive and watch-like (especially the Classic model, which I hope to see soon) and the rotating bezel is almost the perfect way to navigate on a small screen.

This isn't Samsung's first rodeo when it comes to smartwatches, and after some interesting creations in the past, Samsung has taken a clear leaf out of Android Wear's book (and probably a bit from Apple Watch's book too) in designing the Gear S2.

While having the best smartwatch in the market right now may not mean much, Samsung's Gear S2 is definitely it. The fact that it's cheaper than an Apple Watch or LG Watch Urbane just adds points in its favour.

It's hardly a stretch to say that the Gear S2 is Samsung's best effort yet at making a compelling smartwatch. The hardware is very attractive and well made, and between the standard and Classic version you'll likely be able to settle on one that fits your style.
