Samsung Gear S2 Review

The Gear S3's release is imminent, but the S2 remains a beautiful piece of industrial design, and a decent smartwatch.

Beautiful round design; Elegant; fluid user interface; Rotating bezel is a true innovation; 2-3 day battery life

Barely any usable apps; Reactivation Lock is buggy; Fitness functions are very limited

Samsung Gear S2 Classic

The Samsung Gear S2 is only a few months old, but it's already been updated in the form of a new $349.99 Classic edition. The Gear S2 Classic has the same exact interface and hardware as the original, but it's built with classier materials (including a leather wristband) that could be worth the $50...

Sleek design; Sharp display; Unique rotating bezel; Intuitive UI

Mediocre app selection; Weak voice recognition

Comfortable, sleek. I feel like Captain Kirk.

I just purchased the Verizon 3G model. I never saw the point of having a smartwatch that has to stay tethered to your phone. So, I waited. The Gear S was a little bulky for my taste even though it had the features I liked. I have been using the MotoActV for fitness training the past 4 years or so.

3G; Has a built in speaker and mic; Plays stored music through watch or headset

Lack of apps for Tizen

Samsung Gear S2 review

We figured out smartphones a long time ago. It's been nearly a decade since the iPhone hit the market, and now every one of the millions of smartphones sold each year is a variation of a rectangular slab of glass, plastic, or metal. Smartwatches, on the other hand, are new and still evolving.

Attractive design; Great display; Great interface

Proprietary strap mounts (on standard model; Limited third-party apps; Voice controls are slow and limited

The Samsung Gear S2 is priced at $299 for the Original edition, with the Classic version setting you back an additional $150, putting them squarely among the typical Android Wear offerings out there. So there you have it for this in-depth look at the Samsung Gear S2!

-Accessible and durable design -Premium version available for those who want it; at a price -Manageable size makes it suitable for most wrists -Unique input method with rotating bezel is useful -Battery life is quite impressive -Good display experience -Smooth performance

-Limited application support is a let down; No auto brightness setting with the display

Goondu review: Samsung Gear S2

A lot has happened since Samsung unveiled its first smart watch a couple of years ago. No longer is its latest version stuck with a square screen . Nor it is a totally useless gizmo without your phone.

Samsung Gear S2 review: the bezel spins both ways

When we took Samsung's first smartwatch flagship , we pinned the thing as a smartphone that tried to be everything it could on a chunky wrist lump. It did so much, maybe too much for a watch.

Samsung Gear S2 is the best round smartwatch on the market

It's finally happening. The smartwatch market is growing up. Manufacturers are learning from their own mistakes and those of others. They're listening to customers and paying attention to fashion and watch history.

We reviewed the Samsung Gear S2 soon after it launched, but we now have its better-looking fraternal twin, the Gear S2 Classic, in house. Let's take a quick look at Samsung's US$50 more expensive smartwatch that looks like a real watch.

Life Changing Watch!

I have owned many watches in my life, but this one is the best thing I have ever put on my wrist. I call it a thing because it is a watch, a phone, a fitbit, and closely resembles Wonder Woman's Bracelets of Submission (I'd gladly submit). They should call it a phwatch of Submission.
