Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G - Bronze SM-F916BZNAXNZ review

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is an absolute triumph for Samsung, cementing foldable screen devices as not only a possible novelty but as an actually good, useful device worth buying right now.

a phone and tablet in one; split-screen apps actually useful; good cover screen; fantastic tablet screen; 5G; great performance; plenty of RAM; good battery life; fast charging; good cameras; head-turning design

super expensive; no water or dust resistance; no 5x optical zoom camera; internal screen can be marked more easily than traditional glass; heavy; thick; not all apps support multi-window

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G - Black SM-F916BZKAXNZ review

At £1,799, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G doesn’t mark an end to foldables being prohibitively expensive, but it does mark an end to them feeling like awkward prototypes

Great screens; Solid hinge mechanism; Plenty of power

Visible crease; Expensive; Good; but not great cameras

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G review

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G is a glimmer of hope that foldable phones can be excellent. It isn’t the best camera phone around, nor does it charge the fastest - but who cares? It folds and doesn’t do anything badly. Everything the Z Fold 2 does, it does at least well. It’s reassuring (glorious-looking) design delights every time you look at it, and the masterful hinge makes the two-in-one functionality we’ve been craving a reality. A handsome front-display only adds to the utility and enjoyment the phone delivers. At £1,799 for the 256GB storage version, it doesn’t matter how good it is; the Galaxy Z Fold 2 won’t appeal to most people. Nevertheless, the annals of technology history will remember the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 as the first foldable that was great - all-fold, no caveats.

Great screens; Solid hinge mechanism; Plenty of power;

Visible crease; Expensive; Good, but not great cameras;

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G Mystic Bronze SM-F916BZNAXNZ review

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is the foldable smartphone you have always wanted.

Foldable screen is an innovative technology that has created a whole new form factor. In addition, the mobile comes with configuration and features from the top shelf.

Very, very expensive, and the camera is not quite as good as one should expect for the price. App continuity does not work with all apps.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G (256GB, Bronze) - Excellent review

While it's a shame that picture and sound quality haven't been upgraded, the iPhone 13 was great in these regards and the iPhone 14 is, too Excellent display Admirable headphone performance Solid build quality No upgrades to picture or sound Familiar design Notch is still present

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G - Bronze SM-F916BZNAXNZ review

Are you kidding me… pic.twitter.com/hRV0aU9B3H If you want the best phone of the year, then look no further than the Galaxy Z Fold 2. Minus an S Pen and just an “okay” camera system, this monster can handle anything and everything.

Almost the perfect device; Cover display is useful; Software optimizations are good enough; The best phone of 2020

$2,000 is a lot of dough; Cameras are good but not the best; The plastic screen protector is awful

Samsung Galaxy Fold2 5G - Black SM-F916BZKAXNZ review

One year ago, I purchased and reviewed the Samsung Galaxy Fold , finding it to be an engineering marvel worth considering. I then spent a month with the Fold before moving on to other new smartphones.

Stunning achievement in engineering; High quality materials; fit; and finish; 5G and excellent RF performance; Optimized cover and inside displays; Ample fast RAM and internal storage; Improved software for multitasking

No dust/water resistance; Expensive

Samsung Galaxy Fold2 5G - Black SM-F916BZKAXNZ review

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a much improved foldable smartphone, but apps and Android still need to catch up.
