Samsung Galaxy S9

The Galaxy S9 is a nice incremental upgrade, but its low-light camera isn't a game changer and some new features fall far behind the iPhone X. S8 owners can skip, but it's a good upgrade from older Androids.
Pros:
  • The Galaxy S9 once again proves Samsung's formula of a gorgeous 5.8-inch screen, sexy dual-curved design and terrific camera for well-lit shots can't go wrong
  • Whiplash-fast speeds, wireless charging and water-resistance complete the package
  • And it looks stunning in purple and blue
Cons:
  • Low-light photos often look blurry and lack the fine texture and contrast of competing phone cameras
  • The Galaxy S9's camera frequently, accidentally switches between modes
  • 3D avatar software is tragically bad and a new face-unlock tool is inherently insecure.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Smartphone Review

We prefer the Samsung Galaxy S9 over its larger sibling S9+. It is not as bulky and the dual-camera is not worth the additional price. The Korean manufacturer once again delivers a really great smartphone, but it is more of a facelift of last year's Galaxy S8 and there are still some bugs, and some...
Pros:
  • appealing design, great display, fast SoC, LTE Cat
  • 18, protected against water and dust, expandable storage, Dual-SIM SKU available (Duos, good sensor equipment, USB 3.1 with DP, HDMI, and OTG, great camera, wireless charging, Ultra HD videos at 60 FPS
Cons:
  • can overheat under load
  • videos at 60 FPS with a limited runtime
  • no Dual-VoLTE
  • long charging time
  • warranty excludes damages caused by liquids

  • Best all-round mobile phone with Android at present. Outstanding camera and fast hardware.
Cons:

It's a sad fact, but the only chance the Samsung Galaxy S9 had to stand out in an ocean of equally competent Android smartphones in 2018 was if its camera was the very, very best – better than all the rest. And, to a certain extent, Samsung has pulled that off with the Galaxy S9.

The Galaxy S9 is a great phone that doesn't live up to its own hype

The Samsung S9 is an excellent smartphone – one of the best Android phones you can buy today. The screen, in particular, is superb. The colours are crisp and extremely detailed, and the ample screen real estate makes it well-suited to watching videos in horizontal mode.
Pros:
  • Good low-light photography
  • crisp and detailed screen
  • slick design
Cons:
  • No improvement in battery life
  • Bixby is still not very useful
  • intelligent scan has high failure rate

Samsung Galaxy S9

The Galaxy S8 was the best phone of 2017. The Galaxy S9 is a little better. The Galaxy S9+ is even better. It's up to you whether the size and cost are worth the power: For us, they are.
Pros:
  • Feels great in one hand
  • Excellent low-light camera performance
  • Better sound and network support than the Galaxy S8
Cons:
  • Not a radical upgrade from the Galaxy S8
  • Larger S9+ model has better cameras, more RAM, and stronger Wi-Fi performance
