poor quality for the price

Phone charger stopped working then phone cracked while waiting to send back the phone so T-mobile wouldn't take it. This is the third Samsung phone that the family has had and it malfunctioned before it was paid off. Had this phone a few months. Will never buy Samsung again!!!

Don't recommend

I would recommend Samsung but not the s8 active. Literally one of the worst phones I've ever had. The swipe feature is trash. It was better on my galaxy s5 when the feature was brand new. The auto correct croects my real words to things that aren't even words. The Bixby feature is trash as Well.

Durable

Can't beat the durability, battery life and great pics of s8 active!

Nothing disappointing here!! Great phone that survived 70 miles hiking in Arizona, Utah and Colorado. High heat, low temps, some drops and much water! Great pics and Awesome battery life that had me taking pics at every bend!! Definitely recommend this phone!

Terrible

First phone was so buggy it eventually shut itself down and wouldn't come back on. That was within 24 hours of getting it. Replacement is still so congested with Samsung bloatware that it can't even send text messages properly. Also, beware of Samsung Internet.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Active

The Galaxy S8 Active borrows some of the best aspects of the standard Samsung Galaxy S8 , and puts them into a chassis that's more prepared for a busy and accident-prone lifestyle. The result is a long-lasting phone effectively built into its own case.

Battery life that forgives forgetfulness; Beautiful; pixel-dense display; A fantastic camera

Costs more than a standard Galaxy S8 with a great case; 4K video is a lost cause; Poor button and sensor placements

Samsung Galaxy S8 Active review

By now, we've come to expect an "Active" version of the latest Samsung SX device. Also by now, we've mostly come to terms with the fact that it still isn't commercially available in other markets outside the US. That aside, the Galaxy S8 Active is a ruggedized version of the Samsung Galaxy S8.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Active

Confession: If it weren't for the Galaxy S8 Active's monster battery life, I'd tell you to buy the regular Galaxy S8 ( $599 at Sam's Club ) and a good case. The Galaxy S8 Active costs more than the S8 for what is essentially a built-in case and screen protector, but not one of your own choosing.

The Galaxy S8 Active has an all-day battery -- about 24 hours in our tests -- and has a sturdier body that's basically a built-in case; It keeps the S8's waterproofing and wireless charging

Its flat screen isn't as sharp as the regular S8's; and the S8 Active does away with the hardware buttons that helped give the original its identity

Samsung Galaxy S8 Active review: Buy it for the truly all-day battery life

Confession: If it weren't for the Galaxy S8 Active's monster battery life, I'd tell you to buy the regular Galaxy S8 ($227 at Walmart) and a good case.

The Galaxy S8 Active is a great phone, but if battery life isn’t your top concern, you’ll save money buying a regular Galaxy S8 and a case.

The Galaxy S8 Active has an all-day battery -- about 24 hours in our tests -- and has a sturdier body that’s basically a built-in case; It keeps the S8’s waterproofing and wireless charging.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is pricey. With a sticker of $850 it falls on the high end of what smarphone makers command. It's $100 more than the flagship model and the same cost of the Galaxy S8 + when purchased through AT&T.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Active

ImageTagInstance gallery-d934ab53-467d-411d-897d-143fb6ab6861 IntroductionSamsung’s Galaxy Active series, and increasingly ruggedized wearables, have helped establish the company’s prowess as the only true champion for more active (or careless) mobile consumers. Starting with the HTMLTagInstance html-tag-5b12c4d8-772b-4a13-a9e5-0bb7eb399e94 Galaxy S4 Active, Samsung began offering IP67 waterproofing – years before it was a flagship standard – and rugged design, which has now expanded to military standard certifications in drop tests, extreme temperatures, and IP68 waterproofing. Year after year these Active variants have been released shortly after Samsung’s Galaxy flagship, often tweaking small aspects of inner hardware to match the outer theme. This year we see arguably the Android phone of the year – the HTMLTagInstance html-tag-24e963fd-65be-4003-8a5f-ba8ff72be421 Galaxy S8 – step up 1000 milliamps in battery size, and gain all the rugged military-grade hardware to produce the HTML...
