I can’t say enough good things about the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE and if you want a phone that feels very much like a flagship without spending over £699 then this is the best that’s currently on offer.
Pros:
- Snapdragon 865 even in the UK model
- Better battery life than other S20 models
- Nice range of colours
- Flat 120Hz display
Cons:
- You have to pay more for the faster charger
- Secondary cameras aren't the most detailed

The new Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is the fourth phone in the S line this year. That’s a lot of variants, and it doesn’t include the two Note 20 phones and seemingly innumerable A-series phones Samsung also released this year.
Pros:
- Reasonable price
- 120Hz screen
- Good cameras
Cons:
- Samsung’s photo tuning is unnecessarily aggressive
- Fingerprint sensor a tick too slow
- Samsung’s software regressing to a messy norm

The high points are undoubtedly the refresh rate, chipset, and cameras, but most other aspects impress too. Really the only significant issue is the phone’s largely plastic build – which at this price isn’t really acceptable, but when it’s allowed for so much tech to be packed in it’s a lot more...

- has a plastic back instead of glass
- optical fingerprint reader not quite as nice as more expensive ultrasonic models

Though the switch to glasstic is a bit of a disappointment, there's a lot to love about the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE - including the Snapdragon 865, a first for UK fans, and a gorgeous 6.5in 120Hz AMOLED display.

It offers solid performance from the camera, all the benefits of Samsung’s OneUI, and a screen that can’t be beat.

- All the best parts of the S20 for a slightly lower price
- No Bixby Button
