by Michael Fisher "Is it a phone? Is it a tablet? It's Galaxy Note!" So read the quote that kicked off the ad campaign surrounding the original Galaxy Note , the 5.3-inch hybrid device Samsung unveiled last year.
Pros:
- + Huge
- brilliant display + Â Powerful custom multitasking + Â Good battery life + Â S Pen useful in various scenarios + Â Android Jelly Bean with TouchWiz Nature UX + Â Excellent camera
Cons:
- - Â Casing material slick and prone to scratches - Â S Pen less useful than it could be - Â Too large and heavy for some users - Â UI lag is slight
- but shouldn't exist on such powerful hardware

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 review
The original Note almost nailed the whole "phablet" concept, but the Note 2 finishes the job. It's undeniably too big to be many people's smartphone, while being too small – and too expensive – to be a credible rival to the Google Nexus 7 or the Kindle Fire HD.
Pros:
- Big and beautiful screen
- Extremely versatile
- Superb pen & handwriting technology
- Good performance & battery life
Cons:
- Big & expensive
- S Voice still doesn't impress

Bigger and better: Samsung's Galaxy Note II 4G reviewed
The second of Samsung's big phones to be released, the Galaxy Note 2 is one massive device. Featuring a 5.5 inch screen, you'll never call the 4.8 inch Galaxy S3 a big phone again, and while that huge display is one of the reasons to draw you to the Note II, it's the little things and performance...
Pros:
- Strong performance in the operating system
- Fantastically fast 4G connection
- Just over a day's battery life on 4G
- more if you use your phone less
- One handed operation mode makes it possible to use the phone's core functions with one hand
- Split-screen multitasking works a treat
- Homescreens that
Cons:
- Screen resolution isn't as high as last Note
- Not every app can go to split-screen
- Android exhibits the same bugs in the 4G S3
- so you can't switch out your dock shortcuts

Samsung Galaxy Note II (Verizon Wireless)
The Galaxy Note II for Verizon Wireless ($299.99 direct) is many things, but above all, it's the most phone there is. It gives you more screen, more processor, and more OS than almost any other phone out there.
Cons:
- Very large
- A few minor hiccups in gaming performance
- Samsung's heavy UI layer isn't to everyone's taste

Samsung Galaxy Note II Review
The smartphone stylus pretty much went the way of the Dodo bird with the introduction of the original iPhone that reinvented the touchscreen paradigm, yet a lot of folks have apparently been missing it.
Pros:
- Best HD Super AMOLED screen from Samsung to date
- Significantly improved S Pen ergonomics and performance
- Excellent battery life
- Powerful quad-core processor
- Very good photos and video
- Stellar call quality
- Strong
- clean loudspeaker
Cons:
- Subpar sound recording with video footage

It's fast, it's smart, it has lots of tools that could help you, and it has a battery life that could last you a day or two without charging. Also, the display is great if you love reading books but don't want to bring your giant iPad or Kindle, this is a good alternative.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2
IT SOUNDS pretty ridiculous that some vendors now sell phones that are almost too big to fit in your hands, but for some bizarre reason, phone-tablets - or "phablets" if you allow yourself to say it - are becoming more popular as the months go on.
Pros:
- Huge clear and bright screen
- super-fast and responsive
Cons:
- Too wide for smaller hands
- app icons on home screen made bigger instead of adding an extra row
- The back panel is too flimsy
