Samsung's original Galaxy Note was the subject of much derision: after all, who would buy a smartphone with a 5.3in screen and a stylus in 2012? Customers flocked, though, and Samsung has unleashed the sequel, the Galaxy Note II, with an even bigger 5.5in display.

S-Pen functionality The Galaxy Note 2 is quite an amazing phablet and there's still a lot more to it than a big display. It houses plenty useful touches designed to make life easier. This includes  via S-Pen input and S-Note functionality.

Yes, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is absurdly large, and yes, using it may make you look like a walking Dom Joly sketch. But if you use your phone as a computer more than a means to make calls these days, boy, are you going to love this beast.
Pros:
  • Last year's Samsung Galaxy Note was something of a surprising hit: it sold tens of millions, proving that many people really do want a smartphone on steroids
  • The 2012 sequel is as scorchingly fast as the Samsung Galaxy S3, with the same, dazzling, sharp Super AMOLED screen technology, and a crisp,...
Cons:
  • Aside from the 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab, which could technically make calls, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is the biggest touchscreen mobile phone in history
  • It's absolutely massive, and while many techies will love the extra space, it does make it a somewhat niche device.

Best of the best

It is still one of the most powerful devices ever made by Samsung, very good performance, long lasting battery, and the display is huge (still can be placed in your pocket), it came with Kitkat OS. This phone is reliable. Recommended!!!

An iPhone Veteran Evaluates a Samsung Galaxy Note II

I liked this Samsung Galaxy Note II. I could live with it. It's not as big as I thought it would be. But it dwarfs the iPhone 4S and 5. It's a geek toy with lots of features and functions, and that will appeal to some, not others. I personally enjoyed it.
Pros:
  • Very nice 5.5-inch 1280 x 720 Super AMOLED display, Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU.  Removable battery
  • Expandable storage with SD-card
  • Stereo FM radio.
Cons:
  • Not a discreet size
  • may be awkward for some
  • especially kids.

Review: Samsung Galaxy Note II

nostalgic, then you'll want to consider the new Samsung Galaxy Note II. If you prefer a smartphone you can operate comfortably with one hand, as I do, you'll want to avoid the Note II at all costs.
Pros:
  • One of the fastest, most powerful smartphones Samsung has ever built
  • Two-day battery life is phenomenal
  • Front and rear cameras are great
  • The same phone is offered on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, U.S
  • Cellular.
Cons:
  • The 5.5-inch display and stylus make the Note II unwieldy, and it requires two hands to do just about anything with it
  • The stylus is a novelty and doesn't improve productivity
  • S Voice is the worst digital assistant app out there
  • Samsung's TouchWiz UI is clunky, unattractive.
