The Samsung Galaxy A71 packs in a big 6.7-inch display, four rear cameras and a huge 4,500mAh battery at a price point which won't break the bank. It could well be a winning formula.

The A71’s appeal will depend heavily on price, but if it’s similar to the A70 then Samsung will be onto a winner. The core spec here is really solid, and the compromises - plastic back, HD display, no wireless charging or waterproofing - are all on points that are less important to most users. If you can ignore the appeal of the S-series branding on the S10 Lite, the A71 looks like the phone to beat in Samsung’s mid-tier offering.

The second of Samsung’s two new Galaxy A series phones, the Samsung Galaxy A71 aims to offer to offer the desirable trinity of features for aspiring phone owners – a large and vibrant screen, a good camera and, as they are wont to put it, awesome battery life.

So, do we think that the Galaxy A71 is a decent upgrade from its predecessor, the A70? Yes, absolutely. It retains the same screen size as the A70 but has leveled up in several aspects, such as its chipset, RAM, and overall look.

But we don’t want to sound too negative. The Samsung Galaxy A70 was a superb phone and the Samsung Galaxy A71 is even better – the chipset is faster, and the camera and design are improved.

We highly recommend the Samsung Galaxy A71 especially if you are looking for a more premium phone but doesn’t want to spend as much as buying a flagship. It has a great screen, great build, good cameras, stable videos, decent battery life and also support for Android 10 and its next version.

The Galaxy A71 is an excellent overall smartphone with touches of what makes Samsung flagships great. It’s a gorgeous device with some of the best mid-range hardware plus a set of decent shooters to boot.
