Samsung Galaxy A71 - Prism Crush Black SM-A715FZKDVNZ review

Samsung's one of the biggest smartphone players around, and while we drool over cutting-edge devices like the Note20 or Fold2, these luxury handsets are hardly its primary business.
Pros:
  • Display Big, bright, colorful, and I don't even mind the punch-out
  • Endurance Between the 4,500mAh battery and the efficient Snapdragon chip, you shouldn't be running out of juice anytime soon
  • Cameras Even without a telephoto option, the A71 easily takes some pretty nice shots.
Cons:
  • Durability Plastic body scratches easily, no IP rating so don't get this wet
  • Charging No wireless charging support
  • Speaker I love having an analog headphone jack, but with a speaker this underwhelming, I hate how much you need it.

Samsung Galaxy A71 - Prism Crush Black SM-A715FZKDVNZ review

The Samsung Galaxy A71 offers a cheaper path to 5G service if that’s important to you, but otherwise it’s only a decent $600 phone. For hundreds less, the Pixel 4a and iPhone SE are better in almost every respect, save for battery life, while the OnePlus Nord is a much more well-rounded sub-$500 5G...
Pros:
  • Good battery life, Solid performance, 5G support, Big OLED display
Cons:
  • Tons of bloatware, Cameras are just decent, No wireless charging, Frustrating fingerprints sensor, A bit pricey for what it is

Samsung Galaxy A71 (128GB, Black) - As New review

I've had this phone for less than a year. As of tonight it has completely stopped charging. I've spent two hours on the phone with Samsung to get absolutely nowhere except now I have to spend my entire day tomorrow driving to the one somewhat local place to see if they can fix it This phone is...

Samsung's Galaxy A71 Is a Drab, but Reliable 5G Phone

This unlocked phone is a reliable buy, even if it's not all that exciting.
Pros:
  • Solid performance with a nice 6.7-inch screen. Plastic back means it won't shatter. More than a full day of battery life. Good cameras. Expandable storage, NFC, a headphone jack, and 5G. Three years of software and security updates.
Cons:
  • The screen isn't bright enough on sunny days, and the in-display fingerprint sensor should be more accurate. No wireless charging or water resistance. Low-light photos still can't match the cheaper Pixel 4A. Verizon customers must buy a locked version.

Samsung Galaxy A71 Prism Crush Black SM-A715FZKDNZC review

But we don’t want to sound too negative. The Samsung Galaxy A70 was a superb phone and the Samsung Galaxy A71 is even better – the chipset is faster, and the camera and design are improved.
Pros:
  • Great battery life
  • Good quad-lens camera
  • Big screen
Cons:
  • Plastic build
  • No telephoto lens
  • Not much of an improvement on A70
