Samsung EX1 review
The best-selling cameras in this country, and in much of the world, are models the names of which most AP readers will not have come across. They sell in their thousands through electrical chain stores, mail-order catalogues, online retailers and TV shopping channels, and cost between £50 and £100.

Samsung EX1
Samsung's EX1 is a very good camera that enthusiasts will love. It's got an excellent lens and the articulated screen is useful, but it doesn't quite do enough to beat the cheaper LX3.

Samsung EX-1 review Review
The Samsung's strength is its combination of features, performance and value for money. It's not the best-handling high-end compact, but it does the job. The question is: do cameras like this have a future when they're up against a new generation of big-sensor hybrids?
Pros:
- Build quality and finish
- Swivelling AMOLED display
- Photographic controls
Cons:
- Some awkward controls
- One of a dying breed

Samsung EX1
The 10-megapixel EX1 is the new flagship of the company's compact digital camera range. It features a new high-performance 1/1.7-inch (7.6 x 5.7 mm) CCD sensor plus a fast Schneider Kreuznach Varioplan lens with 3x optical zoom (24-72mm equivalent).

Samsung EX1
A fine, if chunky digital compact, but one in danger of falling between two stools

Another of those fashionable SLD (single lens, direct view) cameras? Not quite. The EX1 still qualifies as a compact camera, lacking interchangeable lenses and sporting a small 1/1.7in CCD image sensor. Nonetheless its design and features borrow heavily from the new genre.

Samsung TL500 Review
The Samsung TL500 deserves a spot on the shortlist of solid, compact cameras. If you are looking into advanced-compact cameras, the TL500 should be on the radar alongside the Panasonic LX5 and the upcoming Canon G12.
