Samsung's TL500 camera creates extremely sharp and vibrant photographs, thanks to one of the highest-quality lenses you'll find in a point and shoot camera. However, its high price and small zoom lens makes it a camera more suited to intermediate and advanced photographers.
Pros:
- Image quality is extremely high
- thanks to high-quality lens and image sensor
- Sharp 3.0-inch AMOLED screen can rotate and swivel
- Menu structure is very easy to use and is well organized
- TL500's low-light capabilities are outstanding
- Camera works well in both advanced and fully automatic modes
Cons:
- Optical zoom lens is only 3X
- Manufacturer's suggested price is a bit high
- Noise can be excessive at high ISOs
- Maximum video resolution is VGA

Samsung TL500 Review
Samsung's getting closer. Watch out Canon/Nikon/Sony/Panasonic. What is it? The Samsung TL500 is a largish compact camera with some very desirable features. The 10mp 1/1.7" CCD sensor, 24-72mm (equivalent) f/1.8-2.4 Schneider-Kreuznach lens (with a real lens cap), coupled some higher end controls...

Samsung EX1 review
Lets start with the good, for feature set, performance and price, we believe this Samsung's most successfully realized digital camera to date – and that includes its forages into DSLRs and compact system cameras. A strong statement to make - but why?

Samsung EX1 – Review
Despite the surge in popularity of interchangeable lens hybrid cameras and a plethora of small modern DSLRs, there's still a strong market for advanced compact cameras as typified by Canon's Powershot G12 and S95 models. The EX1 is Samsung's first real shot at the high-end compact market.
Pros:
- Excellent handling
- Sturdy build quality
- AMOLED screen
- Impressive images
- Superb macro performance
Cons:
- No HD video
- No built in lens cover

Samsung TL500 / EX1
Samsung's TL500 is a compact camera clearly aimed at enthusiast use, with some features not typical of most point-and-shoots such as an external flash hot shoe, a tilt/swivel LCD display, and an exceptionally wide and bright lens.

Outstanding compact camera.
This camera never fails to surprise me. It performs well in low light when others would not. The range of features give you complete control and over the last year it has replaced my SLR without compromise.

Bad luck x2
I've had two of these - both were defective. Too bad, a beautifully designed camera suffering apparent quality control issues.
Pros:
- many good reviews
- beautiful design
Cons:
- Poor quality

Whereas it used to be the number of pixels by which digital cameras were judged, the emphasis has shifted to how well cameras cope in low light conditions. The Samsung EX1 - known as the TL500 in the US - costs around £300 or US $430 and includes a bright f/1.8-2.4 Schneider lens that covers a 3x...
