It works. I had problems cloning my old drive due to bad sectors. I bought the software Spinrite V6.0 to fix my old drive, and was able clone it afterwards.

Good value but you need a clone program and a USB to SATA connector. Both are available on ebay. A very easy operation depending on your notebook. ASUS is fine. You will not get really high speeds with USB2 but the whole system is much faster.

The disk itself is a solid product. I got it as a replacement for a failing laptop hard drive. However the experience with the upgrade kit was less so. The failing hard drive had a bad sector.

Judging by its design features, the Samsung 840 EVO is something in between Samsung's 840 Pro and 840 models - a top-performance SSD with inexpensive TLC NAND flash memory. This description is rather superficial, though.

I've purchased a few of these for other people, and use one as my main drive in my gaming PC. It replaced an older 240gb Mushkin Chronos Deluxe. Honestly - not a noticeable difference in speed at all, but nonetheless I am happy with this drive and will continue to recommend it to others.

Great drive for the money. The drive doesn't come with a mounting bracket or enclousre for installing into a desktop, would recommend either Item IM1L39979 or item IM1TY0016. preferring the latter one.

The cloning software made it very easy. It put all my software and files on the new hard drive. No reinstalling windows and software. It was quick and didn't require a IT professional to complete the process.

Previous to me installing this Samsung 840 Evo 250GB, I had a Corsair Force 3 128GB which used to boot to the desktop in just under 25 seconds, with this Evo its booting to the desktop in 15 seconds flat. Great SSD great Value.

This is best for your laptop or PC if you are looking for update to make it faster and better. Using it from good long time now, working as expected. And not to mention, got it at most competitive price here.
