Nothing wrong with the drive, and frankly for the quality and size/money POV, Samsung has the consumer SSD market sewn up with very few exceptions.

I was very disapointed when I received that drive without the PC mounting bracket and the sata data cable and the sata to usb cable mentioned in the documentation. At the Future Shop store (at Le Corbusier, Laval, Qc, Canada) I was not able to get any help.
I purchased based on the recommendation of the sales person and what I read online. The software installation CD had zero (none, nada, zilch) support for OSX. I had to use disk utility to format the drive, then use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy my hard drive to the new disk.
Lightweight
lack of osx support
The drive is good, and was easy to install. My pc is now faster. But the software that came with it did not work and I had to find a different way to copy the data from my old drive.
much faster more stable
software didn't really work
Bought this 3 years ago. SSD fails six months after the three year warranty. Samsung will not exchange for another. New units have a five year warranty. But buyer beware that you will have failure within months of that warranty and Samsung will not help you.
With the Samsung Rapid Mode enabled this SSD performs like a champ! I had to use the Samsung Performance restoration tool though to stop performance degredation (known issue). You may need to check your firmware and use the tool if needed. It's a one-time operation that went without a hitch
Picked this up from Playtech for $275. Unboxing it at first was strange, seemed as if its packaging weighed more than the drive itself, meaning the drive is impossibly light, at first I thought it was just an aluminum shell. However, it's nice.
Samsung's mSATA SSD is a super fast solid-state drive, shrunk down to mSATA size. Here's PC Advisor's Samsung 840 EVO mSATA 500 GB review and lab tests.
There are three important things you should keep in mind when buying a solid-state drive: capacity, performance, and pricing. And the new Samsung 840 Evo makes things easy by offering them all, and more.
The Samsung 840 Evo solid-state drive offers overall excellent performance; top storage space; and useful bundled software; at low cost
The three-year warranty is relatively short; and the drive's sequential read speed could be a tad better
The 1TB 840 EVO is the drive we've been waiting for and could cement Samsung at the top of the SSD tech tree.
Excellent performance; 930GB of usable storage; 4K random write figure very impressive; Good price
RAPID mode did not offer a performance boost
