I've purchased a few of these for other people, and use one as my main drive in my gaming PC. It replaced an older 240gb Mushkin Chronos Deluxe. Honestly - not a noticeable difference in speed at all, but nonetheless I am happy with this drive and will continue to recommend it to others.

Great drive for the money. The drive doesn't come with a mounting bracket or enclousre for installing into a desktop, would recommend either Item IM1L39979 or item IM1TY0016. preferring the latter one.

The cloning software made it very easy. It put all my software and files on the new hard drive. No reinstalling windows and software. It was quick and didn't require a IT professional to complete the process.

The 1TB 840 EVO is the drive we've been waiting for and could cement Samsung at the top of the SSD tech tree.

RAPID mode did not offer a performance boost

With the Samsung Rapid Mode enabled this SSD performs like a champ! I had to use the Samsung Performance restoration tool though to stop performance degredation (known issue). You may need to check your firmware and use the tool if needed. It's a one-time operation that went without a hitch

Previous to me installing this Samsung 840 Evo 250GB, I had a Corsair Force 3 128GB which used to boot to the desktop in just under 25 seconds, with this Evo its booting to the desktop in 15 seconds flat. Great SSD great Value.

I was very disapointed when I received that drive without the PC mounting bracket and the sata data cable and the sata to usb cable mentioned in the documentation. At the Future Shop store (at Le Corbusier, Laval, Qc, Canada) I was not able to get any help.

Picked this up from Playtech for $275. Unboxing it at first was strange, seemed as if its packaging weighed more than the drive itself, meaning the drive is impossibly light, at first I thought it was just an aluminum shell. However, it's nice.

This is best for your laptop or PC if you are looking for update to make it faster and better. Using it from good long time now, working as expected. And not to mention, got it at most competitive price here.
