RiME review – witness a familiar journey to the last guardian

After years of delay, this beautiful-looking indie game is finally finished – but is it really as unique as it looks

None of those puzzles are very difficult or original, and the platforming is even more straightforward; Mishandled storytelling, and a general lack of challenge or context

A gem of a game

Just reading through the reviews and see that someone's opening comment is wow. I've just completed the game and that was my first thought, wow, what a gem of a game. An emotional rollercoaster with some truly stunning moments. The visuals surpass journey and the story for me was amazing.

Perception is a game defined by limitations. Its main character, Cassie, is blind, its aesthetics are limited to a narrow palette of colors and simple textures, and its game play is limited to point-and-click exploration and a frustrating central mechanic that further restricts Cassie's mobility.

Perception (PS4) Review

The team at The Deep End Games knows what they're doing and they certainly have a passion/talent for their work since the creative director, Bill Gardner worked on the BioShock franchise.

RIME is rated E-10 with an ESRB descriptor of Fantasy Violence. You don't really fight anything, but there are a couple of monsters who can impede your progress. But the game will fade out before seeing your character get hurt, and then you just start close to where you were before.
