Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

It really seems that no matter how many PC gaming peripherals we get to test in these pages there are always more around and with Christmas just around the corner we don't have that much left time to publish each and every single one of those reviews, at least not prior to entering 2013.

Sure to annoy your Significant Other!

This keyboard sure is awesome. The lighting is great, the mechanical keys just work. It sure is the LOUDEST KEYBOARD EVER! If you're a fast typer, be sure to pick up a helmet, because you'll have things being thrown at you from across the room for it being so loud.

Razer BlackWidow Ultimate (2014)

PC gaming accessories, like most tech products, are on a fairly regular cycle from one year to the next, with new models coming out every few months so that there's always something new.

New key switches offer faster in-game action; Solid design is unchanged; Audio and USB pass-through connections built in

Matte finish smudges easily

The best gaming keyboards are built using mechanical switches. The Razer BlackWidow Ultimate 2014 is a mechanical keyboard that features Razer's own green switches. You get 10-key rollover (10KRO), solid design and powerful customization with this keyboard.

Powerful customization and a solid feature set make this keyboard attractive

This keyboard is limited to 6KRO and only comes with Razer Green switches

Decent keyboard, feels great to type on.

After using this keyboard for over 6 months I thought it was about time I let people know how I got on with it. The one thing I didn't want was very loud clicks, but wanted to enjoy the feedback mech keyboards give you, the BlackWidow does that perfectly.

Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2014

Even though it seems like the mechanical keyboard market has been blowing up. It might surprise some of you when you think about the fact that the mechanical keyboard switch market hasn't changed a bit.

Razer BlackWidow Ultimate (Razer Green) 2014 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

The ‘click' noise feedback from the Razer Green mechanical switch is awfully close to Cherry MX blue, but once the switches are actuated, it feels somewhere between Cherry MX Brown and Red.

Razer Green Switches excellent for typing and gaming purposes for those who enjoy the click sound; Matte finish layout; illumination controls; Rubberised coating on the keyboard and keys; ‘On-the-Fly' Macro Recording; ‘Gamer Mode' to disable Windows button; Multimedia and Sleep functions; Macro...

Missing Details on the packaging: Warranty Period and Rev/Version (2014; Requires more space between the macro and right side keys; Scroll/Num/Caps Lock; Gamer Mode and Macro LED indicator looked ‘washed out; No offline function in Synapse; Alternate keystrokes are not illuminated; The ‘Switch all...
