It's a good camera, but the biggest reason I switched from the Blackmagic pocket cam to the GH5s was so I could record above 60fps. As others have mentioned, there's simply too much noise at higher frame rates.

Ok, I wanted to give this camera a few weeks before I gave it a review. I love it. I'm coming from using Canon cinema cameras (still own a couple) and wanted something in a smaller form factor.
Ive been using the Canon 5D series of DSLR's but now I need light weight equipment for my world travel photo shoots. Can't they no of another system I would prefer to choose.
Durable; Great Features; Great Picture Quality; Lightweight; Simple Controls
Low-Quality Recordings
Fantastic camera! I just upgraded from the GH5 for this camera's low light abilities. Who knew such a small sensor could do so well in low light. 10MP still are pretty small but I honestly don't notice much difference in LR other than they seem a tad bit sharper actually.
I use this camera for video production of weddings and corporate marketing and advertising. This camera is a major upgrade from my Panasonic GH4 4K camera! It truly delivers cinema quality 4K video in a compact and feature rich package.
4K Video; Compact; Durable; Easy to use; Exceeded expectations
Excessive VFR Noise; Even Worse in V-Log-L
The GH5S delivers so much for filmmakers to get excited about. It’s a combination that can’t be found anywhere else, crammed into a compact body that’s weatherproof and easy to use. Looking at the alternatives, I don’t think there’s a better small camera out there for videographers and filmmakers right now: the GH5S is about £200 cheaper than the Sony A7S II (which offers 10-bit recording, similar levels of low light performance and better stills, but no 50/60fps 4K) and £2,000 cheaper than the Canon EOS 1D X Mark II, which are really the only models that deliver a similar set of features and functions. I strongly suspect the Sony A7S III (still unannounced, but almost certain to appear at some point in 2018) will offer a similar range of video features, but for now the GH5S is comfortably the movie king for its price point. It’s not a great stills camera though – the Sony A7S II, with its full-frame 12MP sensor, is much better in this area. In fact, Panasonic’s own GH5 is better at stills too. Steer clear if that’s a concern, but if you’ve only got eyes for video, they should be fixed firmly on the GH5S.

While it's a shame that picture and sound quality haven't been upgraded, the iPhone 13 was great in these regards and the iPhone 14 is, too Excellent display Admirable headphone performance Solid build quality No upgrades to picture or sound Familiar design Notch is still present
