The AI is stupid and game play is frustrating! For example(s): you tell your team to Hold Position and they continually roam around. And during battles they would 'roam around' into the firing line and get killed.

Operation Flashpoint: Red River is a game stuck between identities. While its ambitions as a simulation are nowhere near as exacting or disturbingly mundane as ARMA 2 's, it's also too demanding and tactical to be compared to the flamboyant action that makes up the play in Call Of Duty .
The experience of being a marine isn't supposed to be like games like Halo and Duke Nukem. You aren't some over strength one-man army action hero. You are part of a team and being a part of that team means that you bring in your strengths and weaknesses with the rest of them.
Impressive voice acting; You're able to customize your soldier's load out before a mission
Graphics are subpar; gameplay is slow and agonizing; spend way too much time healing yourself or your teammates than actually participating in a firefight
Operation Flashpoint has always had its eye set on being as realistic a portrayal of war as a video game can be, and that focus definitely hasn't changed in Red River . Whether that's a good thing is up to personal preference, but if nothing else, it's easy to respect the level of effort that went...
Excellent cooperative play; Huge missions with scoping vistas; Plenty of scaling options to make the game as blisteringly realistic (or not) as you want
Graphic glitches and low-res textures; Frequently buggy and terrible AI; Absurdly clichéd dialogue and overlong between-mission sequences; Poor checkpoint layouts
It is extremely fun and ditches the insane realistic aspect that Dragon Rising had(which I enjoyed for full disclosure)and makes a more mainstreamed experience that is very fun and enjoyable.
I have this on PC but Play seem to lack the PC listing and I refuse to use a console for FPS games when a mouse is far superior for aiming. So where to start, well all around it's below average. After 10 years of playing FPS games I expect something with some depth.
In the sea of today's warfare games there is often little to differentiate one game to the next. Codemasters' Operation Flashpoint series is a decidedly hardcore take on modern combat.
Operation Flashpoint has had a rather long and interesting history. What began as a PC-exclusive military simulator, developed by Bohemia Interactive Studio, that juggled infantry roles with vehicular mobility/combat, has evolved to a multiplatform infantry simulator with original publisher...
Operation Flashpoint: Red River is the John Wayne of tactical first-person shooters: old-school, politically incorrect, and really (really) rough around the edges - in a throwback "they just don't make 'em like this anymore" way.
+ Highly tactical; intense gameplay; + Excellent co-op experience for up to four online buddies
- Disturbing lack of polish; a ton of glitches, ? Why are the games in this series always so rough around the technical edges
Welcome to Tajikistan; a sandy, typical Central Asian country suffering from a conflict with terrorist group ETIM. The US send the Marine Corps to eliminate the insurgent threat to the nation following attacks on Afghanistan.
