OnePlus 8T 128GB Lunar Silver KB2000S review

The OnePlus 8T offers small improvements compared to its already very good predecessor. For example, it offers a display with a 120-Hz refresh rate, a macro camera with a higher resolution and an additional lens that provides more data for photos.

precise display with good colors ..; ... and a 120-Hz refresh rate, many LTE bands and 5G, high-quality exterior, no throttling, very fast charging, good battery life, precise localization, good price-performance ratio

warms up under load; no Wireless Charging; no IP certification; camera lacks sharpness of detail; case could be more stable

OnePlus 8T 128GB Lunar Silver KB2000S review

It’s not much of an upgrade but the OnePlus 8T is a solid phone, and software tweaks see a marked jump in low-light camera image quality.

Plenty of power and a sensible enough price; Improved low-light photography and video; Crowd-pleasing size; Super-fast charging

Disappointing battery life in 120Hz mode; Less fancy design than older OnePlus 8

OnePlus 8T 128GB Lunar Silver KB2000S review

OnePlus has a history of updating its cameras and ultimately delivering solid results. The company has already issued one that improved things, so I’ll be keeping tabs on any enhancements going forward.

Beautiful 120Hz display; Strong performance; Reliable software updates; Excellent battery life for a 5G phone; Unbelievable charging speeds

Lacks wireless charging; Average cameras

OnePlus 8T 128GB Lunar Silver KB2000S review

The OnePlus 8T is a solid Android phone with a terrific software experience and the fastest charging we've seen.

Excellent software; Strong network performance; Super-fast charging

Cameras are just average; No wireless charging; A little too expensive for what you get

OnePlus 8T 128GB Lunar Silver KB2000S review

OnePlus is the definition of "disruptor" in the smartphone space — or it used to be. Early devices like the OnePlus One and OnePlus 3 blew minds without burning wallets. Over the years, that value proposition has dwindled as competitors rise to the occasion, bringing us to 2020.

Screen Exquisitely smooth and even. I'm really, really picky about displays, and this is perfect; Battery life Good-to-great, though it varies a little more than I expected; Performance The 8T is the usual OnePlus speed demon, even without the "plus" version of the chipset.

No official IP rating The T-Mobile version is IP rated, but the unlocked version doesn't claim to be; Odds are it's the same, but without certification we can't say, even though cheaper phones like the S20 FE have an explicit IP rating.

OnePlus 8T 128GB Lunar Silver KB2000S review

OnePlus has always been very proud of the raw specs of its phones, and the OnePlus 8T is no different. The phone is better specced in almost every way than the OnePlus 8 it succeeds from earlier this year.

Incredibly fast charging; Fast performance; 120Hz display

Fourth camera feels unnecessary; No wireless charging; No IP-rating for unlocked models

OnePlus 8T 128GB Lunar Silver KB2000S review

The OnePlus 8T is a good upgrade for all OnePlus users who are on phones that came before the OnePlus 7. In fact, I won’t be surprised if OnePlus 8 buyers feel a bit shortchanged after this one because it is, by all means, a better phone, coming just months after they got theirs.

OnePlus 8T 128GB Aquamarine Green KB2000G review

The 120Hz screen is the headline of the OnePlus 8T, which is an otherwise relatively safe revision of the original OnePlus 8.

120Hz HDR10HD screen; Premium design; Staggering charge speeds

No telephoto lens

OnePlus 8T review

Already have a OnePlus 8? There’s no need to upgrade to the OnePlus 8T. It’s a similar phone. The back has been fiddled with a little, the macro camera is less useless than it was, and the B&W takes on the job of “redundant camera sensor” position that seems to be mandatory in every mid-price phone if 2020. OnePlus’s jump to a 120Hz screen is only half welcome. It looks great in action but we’re not too pleased by how battery-hungry it is, based on real-world testing. That added gloss isn’t always worth the cost for those who use their phone a lot and need it to actually last ’til midnight. OnePlus has lost most of the value mojo had back in its early years. If that’s what you want, you’ll find some of it in cheaper phones from Realme and Xiaomi Poco. Still, if only a top-tier processor and fancy glass back design will hit the spot, the OnePlus 8T is still a great buy.

Plenty of power and a sensible enough price; Improved low-light photography and video; Crowd-pleasing size; Super-fast charging;

Disappointing battery life in 120Hz mode; Less fancy design than older OnePlus 8;
