OnePlus 8T 128GB Lunar Silver KB2000S review

If you want pure performance, an excellent screen and some of the fastest charging around then the OnePlus 8T should be near the top of your list. The lower than usual for a flagship price makes it an even more tempting prospect.

Lovely display; Seriously fast charging; A performance champion; Already on Android 11

No IP rating; No wireless charging; Fairly useless secondary cameras

OnePlus 8T 128GB Lunar Silver KB2000S review

This OnePlus flagship has more in common with the OnePlus Nord than it does the OnePlus 8 series with which it shares its name, with a flat screen, rectangular camera protrusion, and glossy green glass rear.

Brilliant display - we like that it's flat; Super-fast charging; Speedy and smooth performance; Oxygen OS 11 is a refreshing take on Android

Cameras could still improve; No wireless charging; No official IP rating for dust/water resistance

OnePlus 8T 128GB Lunar Silver KB2000S review

There’s been no significant bump to the OnePlus 8’s performance or camera credentials, however, and it’s debatable whether these incremental improvements necessitated a whole new phone.

Superb flat 120Hz screen; Fast performance; Ridiculously fast charging

Slightly expensive; Camera nothing special; Still no wireless charging

OnePlus 8T 128GB Lunar Silver KB2000S review

It’s not much of an upgrade but the OnePlus 8T is a solid phone, and software tweaks see a marked jump in low-light camera image quality.

Plenty of power and a sensible enough price; Improved low-light photography and video; Crowd-pleasing size; Super-fast charging

Disappointing battery life in 120Hz mode; Less fancy design than older OnePlus 8

OnePlus 8T 128GB Lunar Silver KB2000S review

I’ve used the phone as my main handset for a week or two now. The green model I have is cheaper than the OnePlus 8 Pro but has the same CPU, the same memory, the same storage and a smaller screen which I actually found more suitable.

OnePlus 8T 128GB Lunar Silver KB2000S review

“The OnePlus 8T is a great smartphone -- great software, speedy, and a decent camera. Except at $749, the competition around it is too strong for it to be a hearty recommendation.”

Superfast charging; One day's use after 15 minutes charge; Clean; fast; and up-to-date software; Attractive photos from the camera

No wireless charging; No IP water-resistance rating

OnePlus 8T 128GB Lunar Silver KB2000S review

The OnePlus 8T is a solid Android phone with a terrific software experience and the fastest charging we've seen.

Excellent software; Strong network performance; Super-fast charging

Cameras are just average; No wireless charging; A little too expensive for what you get

OnePlus 8T 128GB Lunar Silver KB2000S review

OnePlus 8T Software And User Experience Based on early beta reports, we were a little trepidatious about OxygenOS 11. See, OnePlus was rumored to be making significant changes away from stock Android. We’re glad to report that all is well in OxygenOS land.

Beautiful 120Hz display; Fantastic performance; Decent battery life; Fast 65W charging; Delightful user experience; Almost stock Android

Too expensive; No telephoto camera; No wireless charging; No headphone jack

OnePlus 8T 128GB Lunar Silver KB2000S review

OnePlus is the definition of "disruptor" in the smartphone space — or it used to be. Early devices like the OnePlus One and OnePlus 3 blew minds without burning wallets. Over the years, that value proposition has dwindled as competitors rise to the occasion, bringing us to 2020.

Screen Exquisitely smooth and even. I'm really, really picky about displays, and this is perfect; Battery life Good-to-great, though it varies a little more than I expected; Performance The 8T is the usual OnePlus speed demon, even without the "plus" version of the chipset.

No official IP rating The T-Mobile version is IP rated, but the unlocked version doesn't claim to be; Odds are it's the same, but without certification we can't say, even though cheaper phones like the S20 FE have an explicit IP rating.
