OnePlus 7, hands on: Worthy 6T upgrade faces stiffer competition
Flagship-class handsets from OnePlus are often referred to as 'the one to beat', but how should the company develop its smartphone range Is the pressure to push on hard, innovate, and maybe drop the ball, or to come out with an update that keeps pace with technology trends in an incremental and...
OnePlus launched its 7th-gen smartphone - OnePlus 7 along with its Pro version a few weeks back. In an attempt to retain the mid-range flagship position, the company launched it at a price of Rs. 32,999.
- Competitive pricing
- Stereo speakers
- In-display fingerprint scanner is better
- Smooth performance
- Same old design
- Average low-light camera performance
OnePlus 7 review
The OnePlus 7 is a dependable, affordable flagship smartphone, but if you're looking for fancy 2019 features you won't find them here. It's got high-end power and in-display fingerprint scanner, but borrows a lot from its predecessor.- Latest power under the hood
- Premium features for less
- Solid battery life
- Very similar to OnePlus 6T
- Overshadowed by OnePlus 7 Pro
- No microSD
- headphone jack
Easier to live with than the OnePlus 7 Pro...
I initially purchased the OnePlus 7 Pro but found it very difficult to live with. It's top-heavy, the curved screen reflects and distorts light and the form factor is just generally uncomfortable. I swapped it for a OnePlus 7 and this simpler, more robust design hits the mark.
OnePlus 7 Smartphone: Phone with dual-camera setup in review
The OnePlus 7 is a little bit more down-to-earth than the OnePlus 7 Pro: It seems like it wouldn't need any big changes at all compared to its predecessor. This is true, the OnePlus 6T was already a very good smartphone and the successor offers even more in many aspects: A slightly longer battery...- great battery life
- very fast charging
- bright
- contrast-rich display
- stylish design
- very smooth operation and gaming
- doesn't throttle
- several LTE bands
- good stereo speakers
- very fast storage
- weak telephoto lens like with the predecessor
- comparatively slow Wi-Fi
- makes creaking noises when twisted
- no IP certification
OnePlus 7 Review: Maintaining the "Affordable Flagship" Legacy
OnePlus has become quite a reliable name in the smartphone industry. Year after year, the company has improved on its products and has gradually gained success. This time around though, things are different.
OnePlus 7 review: Overshadowed but not outdone
Despite its problems, and the fact that OnePlus hasn't updated the physical design of the phone, the OnePlus 7 still possesses all the credentials to compete with the best-value phones on the market.- Speedy performance
- Better value for money than OnePlus 7 Pro
- Similar to OnePlus 6T in many instances
- Lacks IP rating and a 3.5mm headphone jack
OnePlus 7 price in India starts at Rs 32,999. You get dual rear cameras – 48-megapixel + 5-megapixel. Powered by a Snapdragon 855 SoC, up to 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. OnePlus launched two flagship smartphones in the 7-series – the regular OnePlus 7 , and a premium OnePlus 7 Pro with a high-resolution...
OnePlus 7
The OnePlus 7 is either a more affordable, less exciting OnePlus 7 Pro ( $700 at T-Mobile USA ) , or a souped-up OnePlus 6T ( $579 at Amazon ) , depending on how you look at it. At £549 in the UK (with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage, as reviewed), it sits below the £699-equivalent 7 Pro, and a touch...- The OnePlus 7 shares the Pro's powerful processor
- has a great battery life and comes with a more affordable price tag
- Its lack of a pop-up selfie camera and additional wide-angle lens means it's more of a marginal upgrade over last year's OnePlus 6T than a variant of the OnePlus 7 Pro
- There's no expandable storage or headphone jack, either
OnePlus 7 review: designed to tease you into a Pro model
This year for the first time, OnePlus presented not one but two smartphones. While other manufacturers have been offering Plus or Pro models for some time, this is new ground for the Chinese manufacturer.- Good build quality
- Strong performance
- Very reliable fingerprint scanner
- Fast software
- close to stock Android
- DND (do not disturb) slider
- No wireless charging
- No IP certification
- No Warp Charge
