OnePlus 5 was a very well received smartphone, and certainly one of the best that we saw this year. To keep the ball rolling and to keep the 5 relevant for a few more months, OnePlus is out with a mid-cycle hardware upgrade, the 5T, that further refines the premium mid-range experience and justifies...

OnePlus 5T Review

OnePlus has always been a crowd-favorite among early adopters. Their releases are always spot on and OnePlus phones have always been heralded as the flagship-killer. It's a great alternative for those who are looking for the latest hardware with a generous amount of storage and memory.

* Nice; simple design; * Great performance; * Good dual camera setup; * Good price for a flagship; * Impressive battery life; * Fast charging

* Lacks water resistance; * No microSD card expansion slot; * No wireless charging support

OnePlus 5T Review

The OnePlus 5T gives you this year's must-have mobile tech for less.

6-inch AMOLED screen with slim bezels; Great performance; simple software; Competitive price; Face unlock works well; Capable camera with strong portrait mode

No water resistance; Old version of Android installed at launch

The OnePlus 5T makes an appealing budget alternative to a flagship, with excellent hardware performance and impressive battery stamina. However, not all the flagship features are there, and we think more people will be bothered by the lack of wireless charging, QHD screen, waterproofing and a...

Great hardware; long-lasting battery; appealing price

Camera output is often grainy and particularly struggles in low light

To conclude, the OnePlus 5T is certainly one of the fastest Android smartphones of 2017 and it does come with a premium look and display. The performance is top notch and Dash charge is a real saviour. But when it comes to the camera, the phone struggles.

Performance; Battery; Display

Camera; Face Unlock

OnePlus 5T

Editors' Note : This review was originally published on Nov. 20, 2017 and was updated on Nov. 29, 2017 with additional battery information and an Editors' Choice Award. OnePlus did it again.

The OnePlus 5T has a bigger screen and its camera takes better low-light photos than the 5; Its few software tweaks are useful in small ways

The phone's face unlock doesn't authorize payments and its dual camera's digital rather than telephoto zoom is a step back; There's no expandable storage, and it's not rated for water resistance

OnePlus 5T Review – Turbo-Charged, Living Large

When considering what phone to get this year, there's no shortage of great options. 2017 has easily been one of the best years ever for smartphones, and with so many phones looking alike and having near identical specs, the end choices seem to be more in favor of price and user experience.

Solid overall design; Great new display and bezel ratios; sRGB and DCI-P3 calibration options; Fingerprint sensor is ultra fast; Face unlock is just as fast as fingerprint scanning; Fantastic official cases; Lots of pack-ins and overall value; 3.5mm audio jack; High quality Bluetooth audio support...

No VR support; display is only 1080p, Not IP rated for water or dust resistance, Single bottom-firing speaker, Portrait mode has taken a step back from the OnePlus 5

OnePlus 5T review: A $500 mid-range phone with the heart of a $900 flagship

With a 6-inch display and thinner bezels, the OnePlus 5T is nearly as good as the premium crop of Android phones, but for hundreds less.

Display upgrade brings it in line with premium Android phones; Chip and battery life are simply stellar; OxygenOS is nearly as good as stock Android

Camera is better; but the loss of a telephoto lens is a bummer; No expandable storage; water resistance; or wireless charging

OnePlus 5T Review: Stay the same

In what's quickly becoming an annual tradtion for the company, OnePlus is back with a new take on a phone it released earlier in the year. For OnePlus, the OnePlus 5T represents a chance to improve on OnePlus 5, a device that was mostly stellar but marred by a less than great camera experience,...

Superlative performance in almost every context; 'Pure' Android with smart and thoughtful added features; Long-lasting battery and excellent fast charging support

Main camera still under performs in low-light; No waterproofing or inductive charging; Does not ship with Android Oreo pre-installed

OnePlus 5T review: Flagship smartphone quality at half the price

OnePlus has certainly made its mark on the high-end smartphone market. The top-end 8GB/128GB OnePlus 5T model offers all the phone most people are likely to need, at considerably lower cost than the market leaders' flagship handsets.

6-inch; 18:9 screen; Face unlock is fast and reliable; Dual SIM; 8GB RAM option available; All-day battery life

Android 7 (not Android 8; No IP rating for dust and water resistance; No microSD slot for storage expansion
