The launch of the OnePlus 5T was live-streamed on YouTube, and made a splash on the world smartphone market just moments later. It is the latest from Chinese company OnePlus, renowned for producing phones of exceptional quality within the mid-range price bracket.
A Larger Display
One of the most obvious differences between the 5T and its OnePlus 5
predecessor is the size of the display. It's larger but with thinner bezels and a screen that pushes further towards the edge. As a result, the size of the 5T is comparable to earlier models.
The Pixels Equation
The resolution on this larger display is still nice and clear, with 1,080x2,160 pixels.
Face Unlock Feature
Some more famous brands have made a big play of using facial recognition to access the phone, and OnePlus has done the same thing here.
Fast Charge For All Day Power
OnePlus has made battery charging a big selling point, thanks to Dash Charge. 30 minutes of charging for all-day battery life is certainly worth shouting about!
Quality On The Inside
The OnePlus 5T, like all OnePlus phones, is designed to be budget-friendly. But that doesn't mean the components are second rate. A prime example is the CPU, where the renowned Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 ramps up the performance to take the OnePlus 5T into premium smartphone territory regardless of its moderate price.
A Refined Camera
Much thought has been given to reworking the camera in the 5T, and the result is a main camera that operates better in low light, and makes portrait shots something of a specialty.
A newer model OnePlus 6 64GB was released in March 2018.
